Potential New Initiative:Visa Sponsorship for Internships

• Many Dutch students would like to do an internship or traineeship in the U.S.• Visas for internships are provided through “sponsor organizations” designated

by the U.S. State Department.• There is currently no organization that focuses on making these visas

available for Dutch students.• Fulbright Center in Amsterdam has asked the NAF to become a “sponsor

organization”.• Program should eventually become self-funding as the NAF may charge a fee

to the employer or the student:- Employers will be required to become NAF members- Fees collected should cover the cost of additional staffing needed

• Pro bono legal advice provided by Greenberg Traurig (through Andrew Enschedé).

Five-Year NAF Investment Returns

Aggregate Portfolio Values

12/31/10 $3,243,295 12/31/15 $3,763,481

Net cash withdrawals — $372,000

• 5-year Compound Average Growth Rate (CAGR) — 5.59%• Benchmark (60% S&P 500, 40% Bar Cap Intermediate Treasury) — 8.53%• Benchmark (55% Russell 3000, 30% Bar Cap Agg Bond, 15% MSCI ACWI-ex

US) — 7.24%

29

Page 30: NAF Annual Meeting Presentation June 17, 2016

Observations on Investments

• Risk-averse positioning of portfolio detracted from returns.• FEG-managed portfolio ($2.5 M) fell substantially short of benchmark.• In mid-2015, we redeemed $1.2 M from VAPIX Mutual Fund and gradually re-

invested in three low-cost ETFs, reducing portfolio expense ration by about 45 BP (to 1.22%).

• Both the FEG-managed portfolio ($2.5 M) and ETFs portfolio ($1.2 M) are now benchmarked against 55% Russell, 30% Bar Cap Agg and 15% MSCI ACWI-US

• In Fall 2016, we will be reviewing FEG returns and possibly consider low-cost alternatives in capital preservation-focused asset classes.

Gifts to Dutch institutions fulfill NAF mission

Dutch institutions do not have to set up tax-exempt organizations, form boards, undergo audits, submit tax filings, pay staff

Set-up fees and small transaction fees pay for the program
