Chiapas, Mexico(In the south along the border w/ Guatemala & Belize
→Wanted Private Land Ownership→Disagreed w/ NAFTA b/c they thought it would lower the price of their crops & they would lose money
Seized control of 4 towns in Chiapas & fought govt. troops until a cease-fire was agreed upon.
-Improvement in housing & education for Mayan farmers in Chiapas
-Land Ownership laws were changed-New laws made sure those of Native descent served in the
legislature of Mexico
