Nahjul Balaaghah is unique to Imam Ali

None of the Sahaaba was ever able to produce anything like it:1. neither in substance

2. nor in literary eloquence.

No wonder Ali was referred to as:1. Sayyid al-Bulaghaa' (Pinnacle of Literary Expression) and

Initially Allah established the creation and give it its origin. He did this without any deliberations, or experimenting, or innovating a move, or any craving in which there was confusion.

He allotted to all things their durations,

remedied their diversities,

instilled their properties, and

determined their features

Knowing about them before creating them,

realizing their limits and confines and

appreciating their propensities and intricacies.

In Sermon 1, Ali: Continues about the Creation

Then Allah rend asunder what is between the high heavens, filling them with ranks of His angels. Some of the angels are:

In prostration without kneeling, others kneeling without standing up. Some are in array without leaving their position, while others are extolling Him without being weary, (neither sleep overtakes them nor the slip of mind, nor sluggishness or forgetfulness).

Among them are bearers of His message, the tongues of His Prophets who carry out His orders and injunctions.

Among them are the protectors of His creatures and the guards of the gates to the gardens of Paradise…..

Allah did not create to fortify His authority nor to be cautious of the outcome of time, nor to seek help from an associate competing, or a partner boastful, or an opponent hateful: But, to have creatures reared by His Lordship, and as servants restrained with humility.

Allah did not fuse in anything to be said He exists therein, nor is He separated from a thing as to be said that He is distant from it.

The creation and its administration did not make Him weary, nor inability ever overtook Him against what He created.

No hesitation occurs to Him in what He ordains and resolves. His verdict is masterful, His knowledge is precise, His governance is final.

He is implored at times of distress and He is feared even in His bounty.

In Sermon 86, Ali: about Allah’s purpose

Verily, Allah has not created you in vain nor left you unbridled,

nor abandoned you vanquished in ignorance and blinding gloom.

He has defined for you your posterity, taught you your acts, ordained times of your death, sent down to you the Quran, to clarify for you, and made His Prophet live among you for a time,

Till He finished (for him and for you) the message sent through the Quran (namely the religion liked by Him), and clarified through the Quran the good deeds and evil ones, His prohibitions and His commands.

So He placed before you His arguments by which He held you responsible.

He put forth to you His promises and warned you of a retribution severe .

Allah distributes men’s sustenance and counts their deeds and acts, counts their breaths and what their eyes conceal, and what is hidden in their hearts. Allah knows where they stay and their abode in the loins and wombs until they reach their end.

His punishment to His enemies is harsh despite His Mercy, and His compassion for His allies is vast despite the means to punish.

He overpowers him who wants to overcome Him, and destroys the one who clashes with Him. He disgraces the one who opposes Him and gains sway over the one who is hostile to Him. He is sufficient for the one who relies on Him. He gives the one who asks of Him. He repays the one who lends to Him. He rewards the one who thanks Him….

He has predetermined what He created, and He excelled in it, and He managed it in gentle ways, and He directed it to go to His direction so it won’t transgress its limits, nor fall short of reaching the end of its aim. It could not disobey when commanded to move at His will; and how could it be when all matters are governed by His will.

Allah is the Innovator of all things with no pondering, and neither with a disposition hidden in Him, nor from the benefit of an experiment of events, nor from a partner who might have assisted Him to create such a wonder.

In this way Allah completed His creation, and it bowed to Him in obedience, responding to His call….

O' Allah! You have not created the creation because of loneliness, nor did You use the creation for a gain. No one that You want can escape You, nor the one you catch can escape You. He who disobeys You does not belittle Your authority, and he who obeys You does not add to Your Might. He who disagrees with Your judgment is powerless to modify it, and he who begrudges Your command cannot do without You.

Every secret before You is manifest and every invisible is actually witnessed by You. You are everlasting without an end, and to You is the eventual end without an escape, and to You is the return from which there is no deliverance except through You. In Your hand is the forelock of every creature, and to You is the return of every person.

Glory be to Thee! How great is Thy works!......

In Sermon 186, Ali: about Tawhid and the creation

Then after its creation Allah will annihilate it, but not because of a weariness in its upkeep or its administration, nor for any pleasure gained by Him, nor for the refractory (of anything) over Him.

Its longevity does not wear Him out, as to induce Him to its fast ruin, for Allah, (the Glorified), has gently maintained the creation, preserved it with His command, and perfected it with His Might.

Then after its annihilation Allah will reproduce it not because He needs to, nor to seek aid from it to be against it, nor to change over from the state of loneliness to that of company, nor from the state of blinding ignorance to that of knowledge and search, nor from poverty and need to richness and plenty, nor from disgrace and lowliness to honor and prestige….

He is the manifest over the earth with His Authority and Might, and He is the aware of its insides by His cognition and knowledge, High is He over everything by His Glory and Grace.

Nothing can defy Him, nor can it oppose Him as to overpower Him, nor can a fast creature run away as to surpass Him, nor is He ever in need to be supplied by others.

Things submitted to Him and His Might in humility, not able to flee to others from His authority as to escape His blessings or His harm. He is with no match or parallel to be like Him. He will annihilate the creation after its existence until what had existed becomes non-existent.
