It was great to hear his journey over the past four years and how he took massive action to succeed at Rio. He trained by strengthening his body every day including Christmas Day, with only two weeks holiday in September. He worked out three time a day with two breakfasts and ate 7,000 to 8,000 calories a day – three times the daily average! The second breakfast consisted of 4 eggs, sausages and bacon!! He continually thrives to feed his mind about the intricate aspects of rowing and was an amazing role model to the younger members of the crew. It was so lovely to see Peter during his short holiday, and how he gave loads of time to all the children – not many children can say that they have held three different Olympic Gold Medals! We wish Peter well with his future and hope to see him back in four years time! Lots of other great role models appeared this week with Izzy and Keira raise a fantastic amount for local charity National Star by abseiling down the Ecotricity Building. Well done to all the children who walked all or part of the Five Valleys Challenge. We have planned an exciting two weeks in October where all children who have pack lunches can try samples of the school lunches or have a school lunch at a reduced price of £1.50 VALUES Our Christian Values this term focuses on: Generosity This is a fabulous opportunity for children to try the new menu. Finally congratulations to Mr Hodgkinson and family with the birth of their daughter Juniper Beth who was born on Tuesday. Mum and Juniper are doing well! We have had a fantastic week,

which started with a visit from

CLASS NEWS

Rec Class

We have been painting using watercolours and we have been

enjoying our Mud Kitchen. Today a lady who grows her own

fruit and vegetables came in to see us.

By all Reception Class

Y1 Class

In English we have been writing instructions on how to make

jam sandwiches, then we got to make them ourselves. In

Maths some of us have been counting back in 1’s, some in

3’s and some in 5’s. The 5’s were a bit hard. Our topic

this term is old and new toys, we have been colouring in

teddies and trains.

We have been subtracting numbers and we have been

writing and describing ‘The Wolf and the Three Little Pigs’

characters.

This week we have been learning how the Stone Age People

painted on cave walls to tell other people their stories. We

have even had a go at this ourselves!

Y4 Class

In Maths we have been looking at addition. In our topic we

have been looking at Roman Artifacts and investigating using

the I-Pads. It has been fun.

We have been doing Maths, letter and spellings. Mr Walton

did PE with us and we played football with Y4’s. We have

also been writing a story on our Residential and we did

Cooking with the Chefs on Wednesday.

This week we were writing a non chronological report about

Anglo Saxon Weapons. We have also played Tag Rugby and

learnt that if you get tagged five times the other team

gets the ball. In Art we have learnt about Andy Warhol

and we drew a Coca Cola bottle top lid. In Maths we have

been learning about prime numbers and finding the first

nineteen prime numbers. We have also done a lot of Maths

Papers.
