Polyatomic Cations

Anions: Nonmetals

• Remove ending and add -ide

• Take root name from periodic table.

• -ite has less O’s

Anions: Polyatomic• Name as it appears in the table.

• Ending depends on # of oxygen atoms in ion.

• -ate has more O’s
