SAFETY INFORMATION
6
Congratulations on your purchase of a BarnsteadNANOpure Infinity UV/UF module upgrade kit. This upgrade kit will allow you to upgrade yourexisting NANOpure base unit to a NANOpureInfinity UV/UF system.
The NANOpure Infinity UV/UF is a waterpurification system designed to provide Nucleasefree (RNase and DNase), DNA free, pyrogen-free, low TOC, high resistivity, reagent gradewater that exceeds ASTM Type I, CAP andNCCLS Type I standards. It uses a four-stagedeionization process combined with a UVoxidation, a 10,000 molecular weight cutoffultrafilter and a 0.2 micron filter to polish suitablefeed water (potable tap, distilled, deionized, orreverse osmosis) to produce pyrogen-free(<0.001 Eu/ml), low TOC (<3.0 ppb) water with aresistivity of up to 18.3 megohm-cm. Waterresistivity is continuously monitored by aresistivity cell and displayed on a digital display. The NANOpure Infinity UV/UF is designed toautomatically clean the ultrafilter by flushing waterthrough the filter for one minute every 24 hours. The water is sent to drain.
An Operation Manual for your upgraded systemhas been included with this kit. Please read theinstructions carefully to ensure that you receivemaximum benefit from the NANOpure Infinitysystem.

13
Installing the UV lamp1. Remove the UV lamp from its packaging.
DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS PORTIONOF THE LAMP! It is recommended thatlint-free gloves be worn when handling thelamp. The glass portion must be free offingerprints, perspiration, etc. Even a lightcoating of perspiration will reduce theeffectiveness of the lamp. If the glassportion of thelamp is touched, clean it witha damp, lint-free cloth: use isopropylalcohol as required.
2. Carefully slide the UV lamp into the UVlamp housing.
3. Plug the UV lamp into the black UV lampcap and slide the protective cover in place.See figure 8.
4. Using the two screws from the coverassembly bag, attach the protective coverin place.
5. Route the black wire of the protectivecover through the hole on the lower rightside of the unit, up the side of the unit andback into the upper right side of theelectrical housing through the holeprovided. Secure the black wire to theribbon cable with the two wire ties.
6. Connect the black wire to the remainingconnection on the UV ballast.
CautionDo not unscrew the blackplastic collar, as this willloosen the water tight sealand thus damage the UVlamp. Simply pull the bootforward.
CautionDo not touch the glassportion of the UV lamp. Werecommend that you wearlint-free gloves whenhandling the lamp. The glassportion must be free offingerprints, perspiration, etc.Even a single fingerprint willreduce the effectiveness ofthe lamp. If you accidentallytouch the glass portion of thelamp, clean the lamp with alint-free cloth; use isopropylalcohol if required.
NoteThe UV lamp and plug fittogether one way. If they donot readily match holes toprongs, rotate the lamp 90°and try again.
