LOVING LEARNINGLearning is often described as a lifelong journey and on Saturday we had the chance to meet with our 2020 Kindergarten students and their families as they commence the next step. This week will have our 2020 kindergarten students come to school as part of their learning to familiarise themselves with school and their teachers.

On Wednesday our families joined with us for our Education Week Open Day and were able to view first hand learning in the classroom. It was wonderful to see so many of our families take up this opportunity and to enjoy the assembly and picnic lunch.

This week is National Science Week and the Key Learning Area of Science is one of our curriculum requirements that takes place within classrooms. Science undertaken in classrooms provides the building blocks of inquiry and supports students to solve problems through trialling, testing and refining ideas. Students participate in learning that allows them to develop innovative ideas in response to questions posed as the photos above show.

TOUCH FOOTBALLOn Wednesday the 31st July our boys touch football team played Moree Public in the 4th round of the Knockout competition. The game was played at a fast pace and both teams showed great touch skills and sportmanship throughout the game. Narrabri Public won 8 tries to 2. This win now puts our team into the last 8 in the North West and our next game will be against Ashford Central School next Thursday 15th August at 11.30 at No 2 Oval, so if you want to see some great touch played, come down and support our boys. Also a big thank you to our referees Tom Nolan from Narrabri High and Larry Scott for a job well done.

NEWSLE T TERCANTEEN NEWSThank you to everyone for your patience on Wednesday (Picnic Day). We had quite a small number of orders but a few people who wanted something at lunchtime. I would just like to explain that because the canteen is running on such small margins we do not put extra food on, on the off chance that it will sell. If it is not ordered, it is not cooked. This way there is no wastage. We cannot afford to throw food away.A big thank you to my Mum helper that day, Sam, not to mention the 2 year 6 helpers who all worked flat out to get everyone served in the time we had. Good work everyone. I really appreciated your efforts. and to Cathy Evans for the batch of scones - so everyone had something light to eat with their cup of tea or coffee. Thanks Cathy.Don’t forget that Nikki is away on Friday this week, so if you can lend a hand that day that will be good. Any time. There’s always something to do.
