SUPPLY OF TOOLS AND APPLIANCES FOR OHTL MAINTENANCE WORKS

TECHNICAL REQUIRMENTS & SPECIFICATIONS

SCOPE: This specification covers the design, manufacture, testing, packing, supply, (CFR) delivery to Aqaba Docks in Jordan and guarantee (maintain) the required tools and appliances mensioned herein this tender document whereto be used in 132kV and 400kV overhead transmission lines maintenance activities. The required materials should be in accordance to the international standards (IEC, BS, EN, DIN, ISO, ASTM, ANSI, …, etc) and according to the described technical specifications / schedules; (Note: the drawings and pictures are included according to our past experience to be for indication and suppliers may offer other products in accordance with our requirments).

1- Anchoring Ladders for 132kV and 400kV OHTL:

Hook Ladders shall be made of Light Aluminium alloy and shall be proof tested to simulate a distributed load of (3KN) in either the horizontal or vertical position. Steps shall be made of anti-slipping material, Suspension Hook of hot-dip galvanized steel, a fixed Hook for tower (G = 220mm) opening and a swivel Hook for leaning on the conductor of (F = 100mm) opening. Hooks shall be bolted onto the frame of the ladder and shall incorporate a safety chain from each hook which shall be capable of being firmly attached to the frame.

2- Line Car for 132kV OHTL: Line Car for 132kV single conductor shall be made of Alluminium Alloy Structure with nylon weels mounted on ball-bearings, parking breake, equipped with meter counter, the line car shall be fit for one lineman.

3- Self Gripping Clamp for 132kV and 400 kV OHTL: Come-along clamps shall be made of high tensile steel, hot forged, heat treated steel and shall be with a complete range of interchangeable liners to be suitable for Aluminium, ACSR and Earthwire conductors.

4- Heavy Duty Swivel for 132kV and 400 kV OHTL: The Swivels shall be made of high grade steel with a plated finish and should fitted with bearings to prevent build up of twist in the cable pulling bond, and must not fail or jam at less than the breaking load of the pilot wire and shall be suitable for YEW, ZEBRA, ACSR/ACS 560/50 and OPGW Earthwire Conductor.

5- Sagging Block for Conductors and OPGW: Sagging blocks shall be openable, designed to fit tower cross-arm to accept wire rope for sagging conductors and OPGW, sheave shall be mounted on ball bearings, galvanised steel frame with openable side. A. Swivel Sagging Block:

6- Snatch Block for Rope Wire: Snatch Block shall be made of light-weight cast-aluminium housing and sheave, with a hinged, cotter-lock yoke and forged steel, makes for quick, easy rigging in deversified applications, and should be openable from one side contains security pin.

7- Pulling Grip: Pulling Grips will be used for attaching conductors to pulling lines, conductors to running boards, and "double socking" for conductor-to-conductor connections in overhead transmission line stringing where moderate loading is anticipated.

Pulling Grips shall be designed to accommodate ACSR, AAAC, ACSR/ACS and OPGW Earth wires, and should be made of high strength galvanized steel strands with multi-weave closed-mesh construction for firm holding power, single eye, flexible-eye grips to allows maximum flexibility to follow the line of pull. 8- Pulling Ropes (Pilot Wires): Galvanized steel rope specifically designed to be used as pilot wire for stringing operations of ACSR/ACS, AAAC, ACSR and OPGW ground wires. Rope shall be made of braided strands with high strength hot dip galvanized steel quality, anti-twisting, good flexibility, corrosion rust-proof, safe and easy to handle. The supplied wires shall be wounded on metal reels with standard length.

9- Guy Wire Stays: Guy wire shall be of high strength galvanized steel rope should be used for supporting towers during stringing operations of ACSR/ACS, AAAC, ACSR and OPGW ground wires. Rope shall be made of bright strands, high resistant to break, flexible, safe and easy to handle, corrosion rust-proof. The supplied wires shall be wounded on metal reels with standard length.

10- Portable Earthing for 132kV and 400kV OHTL: Temporary Grounding equipments shall be in accordance with IEC 61230, IEC 61219, VDE 0683, ASTM F855 and other relevant international standards.

1- Cable Connection Clamps: The spring-loaded jaws enable the clamp to be slipped easily over the line conductor and retains the clamp position whilst the operating screw is being tightened or loosened. The clamp is suitable for application to conductor ranges in the relevant listed conductors used for each voltage level.

2- Earth End Clamp: Earth clamp shall be for direct application by hand to steelwork, the large thumbscrew of the device has a captive hardened steel tip, which penetrates through painted, weathered or non-conductive surfaces and indents into the steel work, ensuring a strong connection to earth potential.

3- Earthing Cable: Grounding cable shall be made of extra-fine strands pure aluminium or copper to be extra-flexible for handling ease yet strong and tough for long wear, smooth jacketing, abrasion, weather and oil resistant, both ends of cable shall be equiped with protective flexible metal cover. Shrouded ferrules overlap onto the grounding cable jacket for stress relief to the terminal. Two crimps secure the ferrule against the bare strands and one crimp applies on the jacket.

Cables Length required to reach application distances shall be as listed for each voltage level, and earthing cables shall be three seperated cables for each circuit (one cable for each phase).

4- Earthing Rod: Combinated Earthing rod of extended length with securable locking head, Insulating tubes made of fiberglass reinforced polyester. The parts construction shall be robust designed to withstand occasional dropping onto the track without damage. One earthing rod shall be supplied for each three phase earthing set, the required earthing rods for (400kV) are specially ordered for the existing portable earthing sets and should be suitable for the existing cable connection clamp as seen in figure No.(12) above.

11- Visual and Acoustic High Voltage Detector for 132kV and 400kV OHTL:

Electronic detector of voltage presence/absence on High Voltage A.C transmission lines and installations of voltage levels (132 ~ 400 kV) by visual and acoustic signalling, according to IEC EN 61243-1 (DIN VDE 0862), and other relevant international standards. Voltage detector shall be Suitable for use in wet condition, either indoors or outdoors, with double indication of operative voltage presence (intermittent acoustic and flashing of 2 high luminosity red led-lights) and the absence of operative voltage is indicated by high luminosity green led-light permanent on. Built-in self-control check for testing the accurate working of the voltage detector before use, and led light for indication of flat battery. - Insulating Rod:

Combinated high insulating tube rod shall be made by Glass-Fiber reinforced polyester with a handguard and hand strap for safe operation. Length of (8) m in four elements with upper attachment for connection of different working tools. Heavy waterproof fabric bag suitable to contain the equipment.

12- Hydraulic Cutter Set: Hydraulic cutter shall be used for safety cutting of Aluminium & Cupper cables for low and medium voltages, according to EN 50340, VDE 0105 and other relevant standards, which consist the following: - Cutting Head. - Hydraulic Pump. - High Pressure Hose. - Transport Case.

The cutter should be lightweight, compact structure, cutting blades made of high strength heat treated steel to ensure a long service life, with maximum working pressure of (700 bar). Hydraulic pump of (700 bar) working pressure shall be of double piston with automatic change-over and pressure relief valve. The cutting process shall be controlled by manometer attached to the pump. The high pressure hose shall be (5m) long, which connects the pump to the cutting head, guarantees the highest standard of safety. Heavy waterproof fabric case suitable to contain the equipment is required.

13- Polyster Ropes: Anti-twisting pulling rope shall be made of braided external polyster cover stocking creating afirm rope and serves as abrasion protection to the high-strength Dyneema-core, with low elongation and lightweight. Rope shall be high resistance to wear, waterproof and UV resistance, easy to splice without any special tools. The supplied ropes shall be wounded on metal reels with standard length.
