Go ON UK is the leading digital skills charity which argues the powerful social and economic case for universal Basic Digital Skills. Our vision is for every citizen, small business and charity to have the Basic Digital Skills they need.

Go ON UK works in partnership with a number of well-known organisations. Our 10 Board members – Age UK, Argos, BBC, Big Lottery Fund, E.ON, EE, Lloyds Banking Group, Post Office, Sage Group and TalkTalk – are committed to helping raise the levels of Basic Digital Skills in the UK. Their combined passion for this crucial work is critically important and we thank them for their continuing support. Working in partnership across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors ensures Go ON UK makes a real impact throughout the UK.

Go ON UK is continuing to develop innovative approaches and programmes of work targeted at different segments of society. By identifying what really works we can deliver the most effective campaigns that truly transform lives.

Go ON UK has developed a National Partner programme to enable more organisations to support our work and help accelerate improvements in Basic Digital Skills.

I hope you will join us and I look forward to working with you to develop pioneering solutions that provide the motivation and support for everyone to improve their digital skills.

“We hear all the time from older people how using digital technology is enriching later life, so helping more older people to get online is a top priority for us.”

Tom Wright, CEO Age UK

“As developments in information and communications technology transform our society, the importance of Basic Digital Skills for individuals and organisations is increasing dramatically. Indeed without such skills, it is no longer possible to fully participate in the modern world.” John Walden, CEO, Home Retail Group

Our Board says

“We’re living in a digital age, so digital skills are essential. They help us save money, speed up bureaucracy, make friends, and enjoy richer content than our TVs and radios alone can provide. Programmes and departments across the BBC are working closely together to take the audience on a journey from basic computer skills to becoming digital creatives.”

Tony Hall, Director General BBC

“Being confident online can bring opportunities as well as make life easier for people. As more aspects of everyday life move online, it is important that people have the basic skills they need to realise these opportunities.”

Dawn Austwick, CEO Big Lottery Fund

“Getting online opens huge opportunities for people. As the largest and most advanced digital communications company in Britain, it’s our duty and responsibility to use our own skills and capabilities, so that we can share the power of connectivity with everyone in the UK.”

Olaf Swantee, CEO EE

9

“We passionately believe that the internet makes Britain a better place and that no one should be excluded from all the benefits that it has to offer. This is why we are so proud to be a board partner of Go ON UK and will continue to publicly commit to playing our part in building a truly connected nation and powering growth across the UK”. Dido Harding, CEO of TalkTalk

“As the largest provider of banking products in the UK, we impact on the lives of over 10 million digital customers – daily. I strongly feel we have a responsibility to ensure that people from all backgrounds are both financially and digitally included.”

Míguel-Angel Rodriguez-Sola, Group Director Digital Lloyds Banking Group

“The Post Office supports Go ON UK’s drive to make sure everyone in the UK has the digital skills they need for the future. Not only does being digitally aware benefit our staff, it also makes them perfectly placed to have face- to-face conversations with customers who need help getting to grips with the internet.”

Paula Vennells, CEO Post Office

“We believe that everyone in the UK should enjoy the benefits of the internet and we want to help make this happen for our customers, colleagues, and the communities we work in.”

Tony Cocker, CEO E.ON

“Connectivity and technology infrastructure is important, but helping people to grow by supporting their access to the right digital skills is absolutely vital. We are delighted to be supporting Go ON UK and look forward to helping more individuals and businesses develop their digital skills.”
