"Our day could not have been more perfect for us, helped greatly by the perfect venue and staff. From the very 1st time we contacted Whitewater, we couldn't have felt more at ease and happy that things were going to be as relaxed as we wished.

Our wedding was probably one of the smallest, informal ones but we felt any detail we did request was no problem. In fact we were so trusting in the organisation, I didnt even think about anything on the day, just rocked up and got married.

Red carpet, chairs outside, the dining table set up, cake being displayed, the

amazing cheese and biscuits....hadn't thought how it would all look, hadn't thought to ask about some details and we werent disapponted at any point. Helped by the weather of course which obviously couldnt be planned but topped off our day.

We wanted informal, relaxed, intimate, and thats exactly what we were given.

We will be back to stay, without a doubt, whitewater hotel has become a fave of ours for a little stop off heading in or out of town. Can't believe I'd never been before."

What’s the most important thing to

consider when selecting a wedding

venue?

I think the most important thing when

selecting a wedding venue is for a couple

to really be able to see themselves

getting married in the venue surrounded by friends

and family. It seems very simple but it really is the

most important thing as it means that the couple

really made a real connection with the place. Your

wedding venue is a very special place which has

the honour of being the place where you start your

lives as a married couple and will always be part of

your stories for your children and grandchildren,

so I think it is essential that it feels right. Often our

couples come and see us after their wedding to

introduce their babies or just pop in for a cup of

tea because Pennard House will always be part of

their lives.

their honest advice and discover what is able to be

Do you have any tips to try and lower the cost of venue hire?

While most venues are more expensive on a Saturday or on wedding season, others will off er the same rates at weekends or even cheaper

packages. This can be due to the location, the nature of the venue as a business, licensing conditions and other factors. A City of London based venue, for example, will probably have high demand for spaces during the week, meaning there can be more fl exibility with prices and times on the weekend – or even the option of hiring the entire venue for just a little extra than one of the rooms only. This way you can have exclusive use of the venue and make it your own!Always check if there is a diff erence on prices based on the time of the year or day of the week. If you are open to a range of dates, check if they are all priced the same. At the River Rooms, for example, there is high demand for spaces during the week, meaning there can be more fl exibility with prices and times on the weekend

We are having a London City wedding, but want a venue diff erent from the ‘norm’, what can you recommend?Couples choosing a city wedding obviously have a huge number of venues to choose from. Some of the

most stunning spaces though are often municipal buildings like town halls which are investing heavily in the spaces they have, bringing them back to their former glory. What many people don’t know is that it’s not just the ceremony that can be held in town halls; the whole day’s event can be held there. Hackney Venues is a good example of this. With two beautiful art-deco spaces in Stoke Newington and Hackney that can seat 100-300 people for a seated dinner, they off er stunning surroundings, a host of original 1930s features such as chandeliers and sprung dancefl oors and are refurbished to a very high standard.
