Nomads (n): people that move often and don’t build permanent shelters. (adj) Nomadic

Migrate (v): when animals move with seasons or weather conditions

Three sisters (n): three main crops grown for food by Native Americans—corn, beans, & squash

Caribou (n): large, deer-like mammal that lives in the very northern area of North America.

Buffalo (n): large animal found mostly on the Great Plains that was a staple* food for Plains Native Americans

*a food a group of people depends on for nutrition. Examples are rice, corn, beans, wheat.

Sinew(n): dried animal tendons used to make cord…such as for a bow and arrow.

Adobe(n): brick made from dried mud, sand, stone, and straw. Used by tribes that lived in the desert.
