The Espoir Famille weekend gives

people with MS, their spouses and

their children an opportunity to meet

with other families affected by MS,

talk with other participants about the

reality they share, and break their

isolation.

Various topics related to MS will be

covered in presentations and

workshops. A program of activities

has also been specially designed for

kids aged 6 to 17 years old who have

a parent with MS. The purpose of the

program is to allow them to better

understand their parent’s disease and

build bonds with other children and

teens who are going through a similar

situation. On Saturday evening,

participants of all ages will get

together for a festive event.

Difficulties getting around ?

The Regroupement des Usagers du Transport

Adapté et accessible de Montréal (RUTA) has been

representing and defending the individual and

collective rights of Montreal public transit users with

disabilities since 1980. Operating in the adapted and

regular transit systems, RUTA promotes universal

accessibility in all of its cases and ensures that

measures are implemented to ensure that

passengers are able to use public transit.

A team that’s listening to you! Tell them about any problems you have experienced

while using public transit. Your interests will then be

represented in the files and claims RUTA presents to

the relevant authorities (Société de transport de

Montréal, city of Montreal, EXO, Autorité régionale de

transport métropolitain, Ministère des Transports,

etc.). In addition, the team can answer all your

questions and support you in any steps you decide to

take. For example, if you are thinking of applying to

use adapted transport or filing a complaint with a

transit corporation, they are there to support you in

your efforts!
