“All we have to do is remember who we are. We are not Germans. We’re not peasants inChina. We’re not peasants in Russia. We have a legacy and a history of fighting for liberty.

Americans have always fought for liberty. Andwe will fight again. So we will not be the FourthReich. We will not let that happen. Not withouta fight.” - Stewart Rhodes, founder of OathKeepers, speaking on the Alex Jones show onJanuary 12, 2012.

“I spent many years in countries where the military had the power to arrest and detaincitizens without charge. I have been in some ofthese jails. I have friends and colleagues whohave “disappeared” into military gulags. I knowthe consequences of granting sweeping andunrestricted policing power to the armed forcesof any nation. And while my battle may be

quixotic, it is one that has to befought if we are to have anyhope of pulling this country backfrom corporate fascism.” – ChrisHedges, “Why I’m SuingBarack Obama,”Truthdig,January 16, 2012.

An analysis of the passage of the2012 National DefenseAuthorization Act (NDAA) muststart from the premise that sinceSeptember 11, 2001, the hijackedU.S. government has been at war with America.

As they say, it’s nothing personal, it’s just business.

The American people are a big liability for the political and corporate elite who are openly hostiletowards the U.S. constitution and Bill of Rights. America is dead to them because the reality isthat America and all nation states no longer matter.

Western elites favour technocratic regional unions, a world fascist economy, and authoritarianpolicing. Towards the fulfillment of their “new world order,” they have destroyed democracy, social welfare programs, free market competition, and civil liberties.

The treasonous hijackers in Washington gained their war footing against the American people inthe 1980s and 1990s, two decades which saw the privatization of the prison system, the

militarization of the police, the betrayal of the Americanmiddle class, and the consolidation of the American media.

The ideological build-up of “domestic terrorism” and“international terrorism,” was also necessary to the process ofthe centralization of power and destruction of the U.S.constitution by Washington’s secret rulers. The false flagterror attacks in Oklahoma City and New York City wereinstrumental in pushing this process over legal obstacles aswell as public, congressional, and bureaucratic resistance.

It can be argued that Oklahoma and New York – two citieswhich are poles apart from each other – were chosen by thestate terrorists to emphasize that Middle America and the heartof the empire both share a deep sense of vulnerability andinsecurity. It was psychological warfare at its finest. Theenemy of “terrorism,” which is a total invention, was solidifiedas a real threat in the minds of the American people throughrecurrent acts of state terrorism.

The political and moral bankruptcy of Washington’s counter-

terrorism policies are further unmaskedwhen it is revealed, as the NDAA plainlydoes, that American citizens are the targetsof counter-terrorism laws and the counter-terrorism bureaucracy.

Michel Chossudovsky, a professor ofeconomics at the University of Ottawa, wrote about the anti-dissent nature ofWashington’s counter-terrorism agenda inhis article on January 1, 2012 called, THEINAUGURATION OF POLICE STATEUSA 2012. Obama Signs the “NationalDefense Authorization Act”:

“Obama justifies the signing of the NDAA as a means to combating terrorism, as part of a“counter-terrorism” agenda. But in substance, any American opposed to the policies of theUS government can –under the provisions of the NDAA– be labelled a “suspectedterrorist” and arrested under military detention. Already in 2004, Homeland Securitydefined several categories of potential “conspirators” or “suspected terrorists” including”foreign [Islamic] terrorists”, ”domestic radical groups”, [antiwar and civil rights groups],”disgruntled employees” [labor and union activists] and “state sponsored adversaries”["rogue states", "unstable nations"]. The unspoken objective in an era of war and socialcrisis is to repress all forms of domestic protest and dissent...The “National Defense Authorization Act ” (H.R. 1540) repeals the US Constitution. While the facade of democracy prevails, supported by media propaganda, the Americanrepublic is fractured. The tendency is towards the establishment of a totalitarian State, amilitary government dressed in civilian clothes.

The passage of NDAA is intimatelyrelated to Washington’s global militaryagenda. The military pursuit ofWorldwide hegemony also requires the“Militarization of the Homeland”, namelythe demise of the American Republic.”

The ramifications of the NDAA won’t beknown until the global economy collapsesand political dissent in America reaches acrisis point. American citizens will indeed beput away in secret prisons by the thieves andtraitors in Washington. So far, they have notbeen held accountable for their crimes againstAmerica, crimes against the Constitution, and

crimes against humanity.

Americans, Canadians, and everybody elseshould psychologically prepare for futurefalse flag attacks which will be blamed onpolitical opposition groups and pro-democracy activists in the West. Westernelites are fearful that a global publicconsensus will emerge around basic issuesof freedom and safety, and that the world’speople will challenge the internationalcounter-terrorism strategy, the destructionof the rule of law, and the emerging globalfascist state.

As stated by the creators of the Psywardocumentary, the battlefield is your mindand soul. It is there that freedom, truth, peace, and justice will be won. It is there that mankindwill take one final stand against political evil and economic fraud. It is there that fear and terrorwill be conquered.

The Global Elite Are Hiding 18Trillion Dollars In Offshore Banks

1. The Economic CollapseJanuary 21, 2012

In recent days, the fact that Mitt Romney has millionsof dollars parked down in the Cayman Islands hasmade headlines all over the world. But when it comesto offshore banking, what Mitt Romney is doing issmall potatoes. The truth is that the global elite arehiding an almost unbelievable amount of money inoffshore banks. According to shocking research doneby the IMF, the global elite are holding a total of

18 trillion dollars in offshore banks. And that figuredoes not even count any money being held inSwitzerland. That is a staggering amount of money.Keep in mind that U.S. GDP in 2010 was only 14.58trillion dollars. So why do the global elite go to suchtrouble to hide their money in offshore banks? Well, there are two main reasons. One is privacy and theother is low taxation. Privacy is a big issue for thosethat are involved in illegal enterprises such as drugrunning, but the biggest reason why people movemoney into offshore banks is in order to avoid taxes. Some set up bank accounts in foreign nations because they want to legally minimize their taxesand others set up bank accounts in foreign nations because they want to illegally avoid taxes. Youwould be absolutely amazed at what some large corporations and wealthy individuals do to getout of paying taxes. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the rest of us don’t have the resources orthe knowledge to play these games, so we get taxed into oblivion.

So why do they call it “offshorebanking”?

Well, the term originally developedbecause the banks on the ChannelIslands were “offshore” from theUnited Kingdom. Most “offshorebanks” are still located on islandstoday. The Cayman Islands, Bermuda, the Bahamas, and the Isle of Man areexamples of this. Other “offshore

banking centers” such as Monaco are actuallynot “offshore” at all, but the term applies tothem anyway.

Traditionally, these offshore banking centershave been very attractive to both criminals andto the global elite because they would not tellanyone (including governments) about themoney that anyone had parked there.

These days some governments (particularlythe U.S. government) are trying to changethis, but we certainly will not see the end ofoffshore banking any time soon.

The amount of money that goes through these offshore banks is absolutely astounding.

It has been estimated that 80 percent of all international banking transactions take place throughthese offshore banks. $1.4 trillion is being held in offshore banks in the Cayman Islands alone.

One article in the Guardian estimated that a third of all the wealth on the entire globe is beingheld in offshore banks, and others believe that as much as half of all the capital in the worldflows through offshore banks at some point.

Obviously, all of this tax avoidance means that governments around the world are missing out ona whole lot of money.

It has been estimated that the U.S. government is missing out on $100 billion a year because ofthese offshore banks. Others would put that figure significantly higher.

Avoiding taxes is a game that the global elite have mastered. They are playing a whole differentballgame than you and I are. They don’t just sit there like idiots and get blasted with taxes.Instead, they hire the best experts and they employ every trick in the book to hold on to as muchmoney as they possibly can.

These days, taking advantage of offshore tax havens is not that complicated to do. The followingis from a recent Politico article….

A plausible scenario plays out like this: I hire an accountant. Doing her job, myaccountant tells me that if I sign a few legal documents and route my money through asmall Caribbean island, I could keep more of my paycheck and pay a lower tax rate. I

may have earned my moneyin the United States, butlegally I can claim that itwas, in fact, earned in a taxhaven.

If it is legal, perhaps more of us

should look into this.

After all, if playing these kinds of games isgood enough for Mitt Romney, then whyisn’t it good enough for all the rest of us?

During a campaign stop recently, Romneysaid the following….

“I can tell you we follow the tax laws”

I certainly believe him when he says that. But it is what he said next that istroubling….

“And if there’s an opportunity to savetaxes, we like anybody else in this country will follow that opportunity.”

I certainly believe him when he says that too.

ABC News recently revealed that Bain Capital has established an astounding138 differentoffshore funds in the Cayman Islands.

Something has got to work pretty well to want to do it 138 times.

But Bain Capital was also very busy over in other offshore banking centers as well.

One of the largest shell companies that Bain set up down in the Caribbean was called SankatyHigh Yield Asset Investors Ltd. It did not have an office in Bermuda and it had no staff inBermuda. But it helped clients of Bain Capital avoid a whole lot of taxes.

The following comes from a 2007 Los Angeles Times article….

In Bermuda, Romney served as president and sole shareholder for four years of SankatyHigh Yield Asset Investors Ltd. It funneled money into Bain Capital’s Sankaty family ofhedge funds, which invest in bonds and other debt issued by corporations, as well as bankloans.

Like thousands of similar financialentities, Sankaty maintains no officeor staff in Bermuda. Its onlypresence consists of a nameplate ata lawyer’s office in downtownHamilton, capital of the Britishisland territory.

“It’s just a mail drop, essentially,”said Marc B. Wolpow, who workedwith Romney for nine years at Bain

Capital and who set up Sankaty Ltd. in October 1997 without ever visiting Bermuda.“There’s no one doing any work down there other than lawyers.”

The amount of money being funneled through Sankaty today is absolutely stunning….

Today, Bain Capital manages $60 billion in assets, according to a spokesman. The totalincludes $23 billion in Sankaty debt and credit funds. Half a dozen Sankaty affiliates noware active in Bermuda, corporate registry records show.

The Sankaty debt hedge funds are organized as partnerships in Delaware that producetaxable business income by investing in fixed-income bonds and other debt instruments.Under tax law, even tax-exempt U.S. institutions may face a 35% tax if they investdirectly in such hedge funds. By investing instead through a Bermuda corporation, thetaxes are legally blocked, experts say.

Of course all of this is perfectly legal.

So nobody gets into trouble for any of this.

By keeping money offshore, even those managing these kinds of funds can avoid being taxed.

Victor Fleischer, a tax professor at the University of Colorado Law School, recently explainedhow this works….

“The idea behind some of the Cayman Island strategies was that the income that the fundmanagers receive for managing the money would be kept offshore in the Cayman Island— and the chief benefit is that you can defer when you recognize that income until a laterdate and you can reinvest the money from the Cayman islands and none of thosereinvested funds get taxed until you bring them back either”

So was Romney doing this?

We may never know unless he shows us his tax returns.

What we do know is that Romney has millions of dollars of his own personal wealth invested inoffshore tax havens.

The following comes from ABC News….

In addition to paying the lower tax rate on his investmentincome, Romney has as much as $8 million invested in atleast 12 funds listed on a Cayman Islands registry. Anotherinvestment, which Romney reports as being worth between$5 million and $25 million, shows up on securities recordsas having been domiciled in the Caymans.

But Romney does not just have money invested down in theCayman Islands. Apparently his money is invested in a wholehost of offshore tax havens.

The following quote comes from a Reuters article….

Bain funds in which Romney is invested are scattered from Delaware to the CaymanIslands and Bermuda, Ireland and Hong Kong, according to a Reuters analysis ofsecurities filings.

So is there anything wrong with this?

Well, it depends on how you define “wrong”.

What Romney is doing is perfectly legal.

But it also stinks. Washington lawyer Jack Blum recently told ABC News the following aboutRomney’s finances….

“His personal finances are a poster child of what’s wrong with the American tax system”

So now we may have a few hints as to why Romney may not want to release his old tax returns.

But as noted above, what Romney is doing is just small potatoes compared to what the ultra-wealthy do.

The U.S. Congress has been trying to clamp down on offshore banking, but the ultra-wealthy arealways two or three steps ahead of them.

The ultra-wealthy will go to just about any extreme in order to avoid paying taxes.

In fact, the Washington Post has reported that an increasing number of wealthy individuals areactually deciding to renounce their citizenship rather than face the wrath of the IRS.

The ultra-wealthy aren’t really concerned that much with national citizenship anyway. If they wantto influence an election, they can have far more influence by donating a few million bucks to a“Super PAC” than they can by casting the few votes that they have.

In a previous article, I described how the ultra-wealthy use offshore banks as a “shadow bankingsystem” that plays by rules that most people don’t even know exist….

It is a shadow banking system that most Americansdon’t know anything about. Most Americans don’thave the resources to be able to set up shellcompanies in half a dozen different countries sothat they can “filter” their profits. Most Americansdon’t know a thing about complicated taxavoidance plans that tax lawyers use such as the“Double Irish” and the “Dutch Sandwich”. MostAmericans would have no idea how to eventuallyhave most of the money that they make end up inBermuda so that it can avoid taxes.

Most among the global elite simply do not carethat U.S. debt is climbing into the stratosphere. All they care about is keeping as much of theirown money in their pockets as they possiblycan.

Of course there are always exceptions to thisrule. Warren Buffett recently wrote a check tothe U.S. Treasury for a little more than $49,000to help pay off the national debt.

But considering the fact that the U.S. national debt is increasing by more than 100 million dollarsan hour, that didn’t exactly do much to help.

Our system is deeply broken and the global elite are getting away with bloody murder. Over thedecades, they have carefully crafted the rules so that as much wealth as possible is funneled intotheir pockets, and they have carefully crafted the rules so that as much wealth as possible stays intheir pockets.

Of course if we got rid of the personal income tax and the corporate income tax entirely andreplaced them with a completely newsystem we could get rid of all of this gameplaying once and for all.

But what do you think the odds are ofthat happening?

Is This Why They Won’t Prosecute? TopJustice Officials Represented Big Banks,Freddie, Fannie

1. Washington’s BlogJanuary 21, 2012

Eric Holder and Head of DOJ’s Criminal DivisionWere Partners for a Firm Which Used to Representthe Big Banks, Fannie, Freddie and MERS

Obama’s Department of Justice isn’t prosecuting anybig fish.

Indeed, the Obama administration is prosecuting fewerfinancial crimes than Ronald Reagan, George W.Bush, George H.W. Bush or Bill Clinton.

This is true even though the big banks – such as Bankof America, Citigroup, JP Morgan and Wells Fargo –committed some fraud, but their entire business modelis fraudulent. See this, this, this, this andthis.

The same is true of Fannie, Freddie. And even moreso with Mers, where its entire purpose – from day one– was fraudulent. Here, here, here, here and here.

So why haven’t the fraudsters running these chopshops been prosecuted by Attorney General Eric Holder, and the head of the DOJ’s criminaldivision Lanny Breuer?

Reuters helps explain why today:

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holderand Lanny Breuer, head of theJustice Department’s criminaldivision [watch this to get a senseof Breuer], were partners for yearsat a Washington law firm thatrepresented a Who’s Who of bigbanks and other companies at thecenter of alleged foreclosure fraud, aReuters inquiry shows.

The firm, Covington & Burling, is

one of Washington’s biggest white shoe law firms. Lawprofessors and other federal ethics experts said thatfederal conflict of interest rules required Holder andBreuer to recuse themselves from any JusticeDepartment decisions relating to law firm clients theypersonally had done work for.

Both the Justice Department and Covington declined to say if either official had personallyworked on matters for the big mortgage industryclients. Justice Department spokeswoman TracySchmaler said Holder and Breuer had complied fullywith conflict of interest regulations, but she declined tosay if they had recused themselves from any matters

related to the former clients.

Reuters reported in December that under Holder and Breuer, the Justice Departmenthasn’t brought any criminal cases against big banks or other companies involved inmortgage servicing, even though copious evidence has surfaced of apparent criminalviolations in foreclosure cases.

The evidence, including records from federal and state courts and local clerks’ officesaround the country, shows widespread forgery, perjury, obstruction of justice, and illegalforeclosures on the homes of thousands of active-duty military personnel.

***

While Holder and Breuer were partners at Covington, the firm’s clients included the fourlargest U.S. banks – Bank of America, Citigroup, JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo &Co – as well as at least one other bank that is among the 10 largest mortgage servicers.

***

Covington representedFreddie Mac …. [and]MERS Corp …. Courtrecords show thatCovington, in the late1990s, provided legalopinion letters needed tocreate MERS on behalf ofFannie Mae, Freddie Mac,Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase and severalother large banks.’’

***’’

Covington in 2004 also

wrote a crucial opinion letter commissioned by MERS,providing legal justification forits electronic registry. MERS spokeswoman Karmela Lejarde declined to comment onCovington legal work done for MERS.

This isn’t as bad as Department of Justice lawyer John Yoo’s letter justifying torture by theBush Administration, but it’s arguably somewhat analogous, as it is a legal opinion trying tojustify blatant illegality. No wonder top financial crime expert Bill Black says that we have to fireEric “Place” Holder and all other government officials who are blocking prosecution of thecriminals who caused the economic crisis. Indeed, it makes one wonder whether the Departmentof Justice still dispenses justice … or has turned into a “protection racket” for the rich andpowerful. Of course, most of the rest of boys in D.C. are not much better.
