Necessary But Not Sufficient

The Building Blocks of Salvation

Necessary But Not Sufficient

For a car to be driven, it needs parts -wheels, an engine etc. These are necessary but not sufficient conditions. When the car has all its mechanical and other parts in working order and fuel anda qualified driver, then all together, these would meet both the necessary and sufficient conditions for it to be driven.

We Are Saved By God

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men – Titus 2:11

… God, 9 who saved us and called us to a holy calling … - 2 Timothy 1:8-9

who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. - 1 Peter 1:5

We Are Saved By the Love of the Truth

. . . And with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. – 2 Thessalonians 2:10

We Are Saved By Christ

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” - Matthew 1:21

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. - John 3:17

This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. – 1 Timothy 1:15

We Are Saved By Faith

And they said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." - Acts 16:31

because, if you confess … that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. - Romans 10:9

obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. - 1 Peter 1:9

We Are Saved By The Holy Spirit

…not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. – Titus 3:5

We Are Saved By Repentance

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death. - 2 Corinthians 7:10

We Are Saved By Christ’s Name

“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12

We Are Saved By Calling on the Name of the Lord

“ ‘And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.’” – Acts 2:21

We Are Saved By Christ’s Blood

Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. -Romans 5:9

We Are Saved By Confession of Faith

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. - Romans 10:10

We Are Saved By Christ’s Resurrection

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. – Romans 5:10

We Are Saved By Baptism

“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” – Mark 16:16

There is also an antitype which also now saves us – baptism. . .” – 1 Peter 3:21

…not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. – Titus 3:5

We Are Saved By The Gospel

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16

Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast to that word which I preached to you – unless you believed in vain. – 1 Corinthians 15:1-2

We Are Saved By Obedience

And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. – Hebrews 5:9

We Are Saved By Grace

“But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.” - Acts 15:11

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God. – Ephesians 2:8

We Are Saved By Works of Faith

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, - Philippians 2:12

You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only. – James 2:24

We Are Saved By Hope

For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? - Romans 8:24

We Are Saved By Heeding the Doctrine

Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine. Continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you. – 1 Timothy 4:16

We Are Saved By God’s Mercy

…not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. – Titus 3:5

We Are Saved By Enduring to the End

“and you will be hated by all for my name's sake. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” - Matthew 10:22

13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. - Matthew 24:13

10 …. Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life. - Revelation 2:10
