oA neighborhood includes the houses, shops, schools, and parks near your home.

be-longDefinition:oIf you belong to a group, you are a part of it.

oYou belong to your family, your neighborhood, your class, and your school. You are a part of these groups.

o A building can be a house, a store, or a school.

lo-cateDefinition:oWhen you locate something, you find out where it is.

oA map is used to locate places.

mapDefinition:oA map is a drawing that shows where things are.

oA map can show cities, states, and countries.

oA map can also show streets, parks, lakes, and mountains.

Definition:oA fire station is a building were firefighters wait until they are needed to put out fires.

po-lice sta-tionDefinition:oA police station is a building where police officers work.

oSome police officers do paperwork. They can answer many questions about the law at the police station.

oAt the police station, they can take your fingerprints.

li-bra-ryDefinition:oA library is a place with books that people can borrow.

oA library also has magazines, DVDs, and CDs that people can use and return.

oThere are computers at the library.
