2. What is Neighbourhood Planning? The Neighbourhood Development Order

• Grants planning permission for specified developments in a neighbourhood area

• Therefore no need to apply to the council for planning permission for the development the NDO covers.

• Does not override heritage designations

i) Application• name;• written constitution;• name of area and map;• contact details of one member; and• statement explaining how meet 61F (5) of the 1990 Act.

• established for express purpose of promoting/improving social, economic and environmental well being of an area;• membership open to individuals who live, work or are elected members within the area;• minimum of 21 individuals;• has a written constitution; and• such other conditions has may be prescribed.
