Dr. Hrishikesh Mandal Netaji Subhash Engineering College dedicated in the memory of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and imbibed in the inspiration of Swami Vivekananda promotes education as the manifestation of perfection already innate in mankind. Established in 1998, the college is an acclaimed institute of worldwide repute and recognition. Down the years it has vastly expanded its academic wings, which includes B.TECH (UG/PG) and Management studies. The academic accomplishments of the faculty members and the students have been appraised down the years and remains still in line. It is affiliated to MAKAUT (formerly WBUT) with the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). It boasts of adequate infrastructure and well. At NSEC, we give maximum importance to in-depth studies in IT and its related fields. Without diluting this basic goal and with an aim to produce professionals with sound knowledge in IT, we also intend to further sharpen our students by imparting specialized training in different advanced topics in management and technology. AEIE Department The International Society of Automation (ISA) formerly known as the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation Society is a non-profit technical society for engineers, technicians, business people, educators and students, who work, study or are interested in industrial automation and pursuits related to it, such as instrumentation. It was originally known as the Instrument Society of America. Instrumentation and automation are some of the key technologies involved in nearly all industrialized manufacturing. ISA provides leadership and education in the professions that it serves, assisting engineers, technicians, and research scientists, as well as many others, in keeping pace with the rapidly changing industry. ISA professionals work in numerous fields and may provide expertise in diverse areas ranging from environmental quality to automobile manufacturing, to nearly any technological field in use today. The ISA NSEC Students Section came into being on 20th April, 2017 under the guidance of the ex- -HOD of AEIE Dr. Tapan Kr. Maiti. The section boasts of the total strength of 52 students with two Faculty advisors – Prof. Sumitesh Majumder (HOD-in-charge) and Prof. Manideepa Pal as guidance to the section. The Section has its own Committee to overlook the functioning. At present the section has students from 3rd year and 4th year AEIE B.Tech batch (more than 50). The Section is under the guidance of ISA Kolkata Section of District 14.The main objective is to provide the students of AEIE department, a global exposure in field of Automation and Instrumentation. The section aims at inculcating knowledge about current standards of the Automation Industry through various workshops, Industrial training and seminars on variant topics. Message from the Director Message from the Principal Workshop on Gender Sensitization NSEC in collaboration with Gender Benders, a social group led by people of various layers of education (CU and RBU), organized the first workshop on gender sensitization on April 26, 2018. The workshop started with a brief introductory session of the students as well as the speakers. Asmi Basu started with an explanation about gender and the fundamental difference between the anatomical idea of ‘sex’ and the socio-culturally constructed notion of ‘gender’; and how people look into it. She very well explained what gender is and what actually people perceive. Asmi Basu was followed by Sneha Bhattacharya who presented an audio- -visual and a PowerPoint presentation on The Disembodied Self: A Take on Violence Against Women. Her speech included a light on different kinds of violence, laws to resist violence as well as loopholes through which they are misused by people.
