“Lord, Teach Us To Pray!”
“No great spiritual awakening has begun anywhere in the world apart from united prayer.” These
words from J. Edwin Orr are both a reminder and a lesson for the modern church. Nothing, absolutely
nothing of lasting value, takes place in the spiritual realm that does not first begin with the gathering in
prayer of God’s people.
In Acts Chapter 4 we are introduced to A Model Prayer Meeting. Here are some of the ingredients that
made this gathering a Model and a Powerful Prayer Meeting.
1. Those Present Were One In Heart…“They Were In One Accord”...Prayer flourishes where there is a
spirit of love and unity and fellowship.
2. They Called To Mind The Power Of God… As they considered the work of God their faith was
strengthened.
3. They Acknowledged The Sovereignty Of God...They confidently expected God to both hear and
answer their requests.
4. They Relied On The Truth Of Scripture...They based their requests on the Word of God.
5. They Sought The Glory Of Christ Alone… “With Great Power They Gave Witness Of Christ.”
6. They Made Specific Request…“Grant Your Servants Boldness” and “Extend Your Hand To Heal.”
7. Their Prayers Were Answered With A Supernatural Demonstration Of Power… “The Place Where
They Had Gathered Was Shaken.”
8. They Received Spiritual Empowerment For Ministry… “They Were Filled With The Holy Spirit”…They
received exactly what they had prayed for.
9. The Prayer Meeting Brought About A Deeper Sense Of Sharing One With Another...“They Had All
Things Common.”...Each one looked after the needs of others.
Each Thursday @ 8:00 AM a group meets @ North Florida Baptist Network to pray for our Pastors and
Staff and their families and for the Churches they serve….“Lord, Teach Us To Pray!”

Saturday, April 20, 2019 Countryside Baptist Church celebrated its 2nd
Anniversary by enjoying a BBQ picnic prepared by Pastor Richard Rodriguez at the
recently cleared church property. Guest speaker, Rev. Gary Croxton, ordained last year
at Countryside Baptist Church, delivered an enthusiastic & encouraging message. Plans
are moving forward for construction of a building this year. We praise & thank the Lord
for His faithfulness & many blessings.
