Mondays 5 - 7pm Basic introduction to preparing and cooking healthier food. Salford Learning Consortium (SLC)

Basic DIY Course (6 – 8 wk)

Mondays 6pm - 8pm

Want to fix that cupboard or learn how to hang wallpaper, great starter course for you from the Workers Education Association (WEA)

IT Basics (8 wk) Monday 10am – 12pm

Beginner course – from word to internet, this course will provide the foundations for using a computer (SLC)

IT Employment Skills (8 wk)

Friday 10 – 12pm This course covers the basics that employers are looking for around computer use (SLC)

IT Progression (8 wk) Tues 10am – 12pm As follow on for anybody that has already done a beginners with us (SLC)

Health and Social Care Course (8 wk)

Tuesdays 2pm - 4pm

Great introduction course for anybody interested in working/volunteering in care homes inc. volunteering and Empowered Conversations training. (SLC)

Introduction to Woodwork (Men in Sheds) (10 wk)

Wednesdays 10.30am - 12.30pm

Learn some basic woodwork skills at Garden Needs (SLC)

Art and Craft (10 wk) Wednesdays 6pm - 8pm

Aimed at anybody who wants to learn new techniques from recycled jewelry making through to decoupage (WEA)

Explore the history of Salford through this unique archeology course(WEA)

Confidence building and personal safety for Women - (6wk)

Thursdays 6 - 8pm Build your confidence through learning the theory and practice of self-defense (SLC)

From tin can birds through to beautiful paper flowers – this is a great course for people who love to make things! (WEA)

3rd Thursday of the month 6.30-9pm

Great group for women who like to laugh, eat cake, meet new people, learn new things, go on trips (last year Amsterdam this year Barcelona) at the Beacon Centre

Men in Sheds Weds 10.30am – 2.30pm

New group just for blokes who like to make stuff! First project is to make a shed!

6 week course for people who want to learn more about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing, includes visits out to museums and other venues.

Beacon Counselling Free counselling support service for anyone affected by problematic gambling whether it be the individual or a friend or family member who needs help supporting the individual.To access this service call 0161 635 1099.

Mind In Salford Advocacy support service

Garden Needs Monday – Friday, 10am – 4pm

Volunteering opportunities for people who live to be outside. Please call for more details.

Cyril Flint – Befriending Want to become a befriender? Cyril Flint can provide training and DBS checks to support volunteers to become befrienders in Salford.

Creation Café Monday – Friday8.30am – 3pm

Enjoy cooking and want to meet new people – this is a supportive, fun and engaging place to volunteer. Please call for more details.

Courses run with the WEA are £65.10 for a 10 week course. If you receive certain benefits you may qualify for a free place. You must enroll in advance for these courses. Please enquire for enrolment and the WEA course open days. LD courses are suitable for adults with learning disabilities.
