Step 5: Complete the course, ensuring all content is covered. You need 100% completion for all three modules. The course will take approximately 90 minutes to complete.

7.1 Do the keelboat/s used meet the Australian Sailing ‘Keelboat Suitable Vessels Guidelines’? ☐

7.2 Does all equipment used: (a) Function properly? (b) Be regularly checked, cleaned and serviced? (c) When not in use, to be stowed in conditions in which deterioration is minimised? (d) Be readily accessible? (e) Be of a type, size and capacity suitable and adequate for the intended use and size of the boat?

7.15 Where there is any form of auxiliary engine or naked flame, fire extinguishers readily accessible in suitable and different parts of the boat shall be provided with one of a minimum 10B (E) rating of dry powder or equivalent? Fire extinguishers shall be serviced/tested, by an authorised person, according to the manufacturers’ instructions.

7.16 Does the boat have a sharp knife capable of cutting high modulus fibre rope, sheathed and restrained located in or near each cockpit?

7.25 Does boat have a first-aid kit stored in a waterproof container on board, which we recommend to include: disposable gloves; crepe bandages; low absorbency non-adherent dressing/plain gauze (2); saline solution; Band-Aids; antiseptic skin solution; sunscreen 30+SPF; emergency blanket (2); stainless steel scissors; tweezers; non-allergic tape; triangular bandage; safety pins; sterile eye pads; CPR mask or Face Shields; bags for disposal; First Aid manual.

8.11 Does the boat have a VHF (Fixed or handheld) onboard along with frequency/distress call sticker? ☐
