REMOTE OIL TANKStandard on the E65SL and E90SL, this feature allows for easy access to fill oil conveniently from your boat. With the increased oil capacity, the average pontoon boater will make it through an entire season without having to re-fill oil.

EASY TO OWN

TRUE HIGH OUTPUT ALTERNATOR Competitiors claim high alternator output, but they fall far short of what the Evinrude E-TEC technology delivers. With up to 70% more total output of the competition, the Evinrude E-TEC Pontoon Series models deliver the electrical power to run all of today’s onboard electronics. This Magneto alternator system is designed to deliver this power where and when you need it, from dead idle all the way to WOT.

Competitors publish “gross” amperage. Evinrude publishes “gross” and “net” available amperage, which is what you can actually use after the engine consumes what is required for it to run. More available amps allow you to operate more electronics, more often. The additional amperage of the Evinrude E-TEC Pontoon Series means there’s less chance for you to run down your battery or have a dead battery as a result of operating onboard electronics. Additionally, the Evinrude E-TEC engine’s alternator is belt-less. There are no belts to wear, break or replace.

FEWER EMISSIONS No other brand of outboards produces fewer reportable emissions than the Evinrude E-TEC family of engines. In fact, Evinrude E-TEC outboard engines power the patrol boats on Lake Tahoe, one of the cleanest lakes in the world.

Through the direct injection process, we’re able to control fuel droplet size, injection angle, and timing, resulting in the precise amount of fuel burn needed at all RPM levels to achieve the cleanest emissions family in the outboard industry. And, BRP was the first outboard manufacturer to receive the EPA’s Clean Air Technology Excellence Award for the Evinrude E-TEC engine.

BURNS LESS FUEL The engine management system makes more than 8 million calculations per second. You get the precise amount of fuel you need at any given RPM. Not a droplet more. A big advantage when you’re taking your pontoon boat on long days on the water or sunset cruises.

LESS NOISE Comparable to the quietest 4-strokes, thanks to our acoustically tuned intake and exhaust and 3-dimensional foam lining, making for easier conversations when cruising on your pontoon.

CLEAN TECHNOLOGYThe Evinrude E-TEC Pontoon Series not only provides a solid power output, but also has a 3-Star CARB Clean Emissions rating. This is due to the direct injection fuel delivery system which is unique to Evinrude E-TEC. With virtually no smoke, ultra-low fumes and the lowest total reportable emissions of any outboard brand, the only thing filling the air is conversation.

STRATIFIED COMBUSTION PROCESSThe advanced form of direct fuel injection found in the Evinrude E-TEC Pontoon Series features stratified combustion. At idle and slow speeds, the engine’s computer uses just a small portion of each cylinder in the combustion process to provide superior fuel efficiency and ultra-low emissions.

SS STEERING ARM AND PIVOT SHAFT ASSEMBLY Built from high-grade, 304 stainless steel, the steering arm and pivot shaft assembly of the Evinrude E-TEC Pontoon Series won’t rust or corrode, resulting in longer engine life and less maintenance.

PINPOINT OILING Not a single drop is wasted. You can probably cruise most of the year without refilling the reservoir. This means lower oil consumption, no oil changes and longer engine life.

SOUND DAMPENINGEach Evinrude E-TEC engine utilizes multi-density foam in both the upper and lower cowlings to provide whisper quiet idle sound.

SPECIALIZED ALUMINUM PISTONSDeveloped by NASA engineers, the piston alloy of all Evinrude E-TEC engines are 2.5 times stronger at operating temperatures than conventional alloys. This means increased durability and longer engine life.

NAGEL HONEThe Evinrude E-TEC Pontoon Series features a highly advanced cylinder honing process based on the Nagel Hone that improves cylinder wall geometry, making the cylinder bore more true to design specification. The resulting hone pattern dramatically improves lubrication as well as piston to cylinder wall interface for improved lubrication, cooler piston temperatures and longer engine life. This advanced honing process is proprietary to BRP and is one of the key contributing factors that allows for the no break-in benefit.

TILT LIMIT SWITCHAllows you to limit the amount of tilt to prevent damage from the engine hitting the splash well and/or transom.
