To Do Today:
1. Discover 14 opportunities and avenues by which to advance in your library career.
2. Quick talk about Indiana State Library certification requirements and changes.
3. Identify 1 area to explore in the next 6 months.
4. Identify 1 area to explore in the next 12 months.
In Your Own Backyard:1.ILF: Become a member. Present at
conferences. Get involved in committees.
2.ISL: Get involved in PD Committee, INSPIRE, Evergreen Indiana and Resource Sharing committees.
3.ISL: INLLA, Numerous PD offerings online and in-person (including Spanish Language Learning Community!).
In Your Own Backyard:
4. ISL: Watch the listservs and the Wednesday Word for opportunities.
5. County leadership programs.
6. Get certified with your Indiana State Library! Enroll in Ivy Tech, IU, and other academic Library Science courses.

Out in the World:
7. Join ALA, PLA, and other national or regional organizations that match your goals and get involved in their committees.
8. Apply for PLA Leadership Academy and other national or regional leadership programs.
9. Apply for scholarships to attend national conferences.
From Your Desk:10. LYNDA: Leadership, Personal Branding, Project
Management, and on and on.
11. Social Networking: Interact on Facebook & Twitter.
12. Stay on top of professional literature: Library Journal and so forth.
13. Publish articles or write guest blog posts.
14. Reach out to presenters and professionals whose webinars you loved and tell them what you learned!
