Here are the five key points of the article. 1. Liaise with your child's teacher to ensure a shared responsibility for his/her education, including the imparting of virtues. 2. Parental participation and taking responsibility greatly improve relations between teachers and parents. 3. Mutual respect, trust and understanding is vital so, if you have a problem, rather approach the teacher on your own. 4. Speak positively about your child's teacher and encourage your child to approach the teacher if he/she has a problem. 5. Well-adjusted and successful learners are the ones who enjoy the privilege of sincere parental involvement. Father’s Club At the father’s club meeting last week a black jacket was left behind. TELKOM TOWER

Telkom have started the installation of a new 15 meter tower

on the far side of the field near the cricket hut, improving data

coverage on their network, with added benefits to Hudson

Park.

Safety is always a serious concern and carefully considered by

HPPS. Mobile phone systems operate at frequencies between

800 and 1800 MHz. These fields are non-ionizing unlike X-rays

and gamma rays. The tower will also be surrounded by a fence

for your child’s physical safety.

Base station antennae use much lower levels than those from

radio and television broadcast stations. Public exposure to

radio waves is slight: The power levels are low and the signals

are transmitted intermittently rather than constantly. At

ground level near a base station, the amount of RF energy is

thousands of times less than the limits for safe exposure set

by the US Federal Communication Commission.

Hudson Park Primary & Eaglets are two of the first three schools, in East London to implement Neuronet as part of our curriculum. It has been introduced in all Grade R and 1 classes this year. Neuronet is a program where movement is used for

the systematic practice of neural synchrony, synaptic strengthening and temporal binding to create fluency in

As the rugby season fast approaches, it gives me great pleasure to introduce a number of positive initiatives which will be taking place at Hudson Park Primary School rugby. It would be appropriate at this time to first thank all the players, parents and coaches who were involved in the notable improvements of last year's rugby season. The commitment and positive attitude by all our stakeholders made these improvements possible. A defining contribution to the successes last year was the creation of our schools mission statement which is outlined below. I had the privilege of co-authoring the impressive document with our teachers and coaches who must take the full credit for designing a blueprint and purposeful direction for our rugby program. A significant reason for the on-field progress was the collective implementation of the skill essentials pathway outlined in the document and it is with excitement that we look to expand on the next three pathways this year.

Coach DevelopmentOn Sunday the 24th of January we were honored to have Greg Miller of the Investec International Rugby Academy come in and present a one day coach development seminar to the coaching staff of Hudson Primary. The session comprised of three modules namely theory of coaching, transfer of knowledge and skill development. The feedback from the coaches was very positive and the enthusiasm to get back onto the pitch and work with the children in preparation for the season was expressed by all. A special thanks to Greg and to all who were involved in the fundraising initiative last year which made this seminar possible, I am confident that we have added another level of performance to this season.

Rugby news 2016In closing I am pleased to announce a number of proposed changes to the training format at Hudson Primary this season which starts on March the 7th. Firstly a change to the training format and pitch usage will allow us to increase our training time. Feedback from coaches and parents indicated that greater preparation could be achieved through a slightly longer session and so we have created a format for training which will see us increase our skill involvements through effective pitch management as well as increase the amount of games that we play within the session so that the players will enjoy their rugby and have every chance to perform this year.Additionally we are excited to introduce the Tuesday core skills and fundamental movement's session for players who do not play Hockey as a second sport. In closing I would like to mention that details of both training times and the introduction of the skills session will be made available in our next newsletter as well as the coaching appointments which are currently being finalised. Until then I hope you enjoy what is left of the summer!Kind RegardsJames Winstanley
