Founded in 1994, Brighton Management is a privately-held management company that focuses on the development and management of hotel properties.

Behind the scenes, we are always working with our employees to maintain a safe & comfortable working environment.

Brighton Management currently manages about 41 properties, 38 of them which are in California.

Standards of Appearance

Hair• Hair must be neatly trimmed and

maintained (“above the collar” for

men.)

• Extreme styles and colors should be

avoided

• Hats are only to be worn if part of

the uniform.

• Head covering for religious reasons

are permitted.

Facial Hair• Mustaches are acceptable if neatly

trimmed and maintained and may not extend below upper lip.

• Beards (Only in Heart of the House positions) and goatees are acceptable and must be neatly trimmed and maintained with maximum ½ inch in length. If an associate wishes to grow a beard, mustache or goatee, it must be fully cultivated during vacation or other time off.

• Partially grown or “spotty” mustaches, beards or goatees are not permitted.

Personal Hygiene• Brush teeth, use mouth wash and

floss for optimum oral health

• Bathe daily

• Use appropriate deodorant

• Wear clean and wrinkle-free

clothing

• Avoid overly fragrant lotions,

perfume or other products.

Standards of Appearance

Jewelry• Jewelry should only be worn in

moderation

• A maximum of two simple rings

per hand

• No necklaces outside the

uniform

• One bracelet or wristwatch per

arm

• No attachments other than name

tag, length-of-service award, or

company-sponsored promotion

Make-up• Make-up to be worn in

moderation

• Colors must be natural and

tasteful

Tattoos• The tattoo cannot be offensive,

contain nudity, profanity, racial connotations.

• Tattoos are limited to one visible per extremity. Visible tattoos may not be on the hands, face, neck or leg and full sleeves are not permitted. Clothing or other coverings must be worn to cover tattoos on these areas. Visible tattoos are permitted only on the ankle or foot.

• Management reserves the right to make the final determination on the appropriateness of any visible tattoo at any time.

Scheduling

Work weeks begin Monday, ending Sunday

Your department manager will post weekly schedules. It is your responsibility to check the schedule to know when you will be expected to be at work.

PTO should be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance to allow your department manager to adjust the schedule accordingly.

If you will not be able to come to work due to an unforeseen illness or emergency, call your manager no less than 3 hours before your scheduled shift.

Time Clocks

Time Clocks are located in three

different locations

Clock in no earlier than 5 minutes

before the beginning of your shift.

Clock out/in for lunches (no less than

30 minutes)

Do not clock out for rest periods (two

10-minute breaks/8 hour shift)

No working off the clock…ever.

Remember that your wages are confidential

All tips must be reported

Pay Periods begin Monday, ending the following Sunday

Pay Days are every other Friday

You may elect to be paid via direct deposit or check

Committees

Event Planning A committee dedicated to planning employee events and company functions. This committee plans birthday celebrations, employee quarterly events, employee functions, community service activities, etc.

SafetyThe Safety committee meets on a monthly basis to inspect the building, create safety plans, organize safety trainings, and ensuring our hotel meets safety standards.

SustainabilityThe Sustainability committee meets on a monthly basis to promote the green program, discuss how to be more green, and work together to reduce waste.
