CR Series combines are more efficient at every step of the process.

Step up the pace of your harvest

CR Series Twin Rotor® combinesgive you more throughput capacity thanother combines, along with minimal loss and damage—even in less-than-perfect fields. CR combines step up thepace from the head to the chopper. Ateach step of the process, a CR combinehandles the job more efficiently. Take a look:

Twin Rotors® generate morecentrifugal force

CR combines separate grain fast usingpatented Twin Rotors that generate thehighest centrifugal force of any rotarycombine. Two rotors placed side by sidecreate a wide infeed to the rotors forhigher thresher capacity in a wide rangeof crops. The side-by-side rotors promote

a high level of grain-on-grain threshing,to handle grain more gently than othersystems. You get high-quality grain—and more of it. Twin Rotors also natural-ly distribute the grain more evenly onthe cleaning system. And, the Twin Rotorsystem allows for quick, easy adjust-ments to accommodate any crop or con-dition including specialty crops.

Superior stone protectionNew Holland’s Advanced Stone

Protection (ASP™ ) system uses sensorsabove and below the crop to detect andeject stones that other systems miss. The system operates automatically to letyou concentrate on the harvest withoutbeing slowed down by expensive down-time. There is no need to stop to dump a sump/trap as with other designs.

The most efficient cleaningsystem available

A unique SLS (self-leveling cleaningsystem) provides a more natural, effi-cient and thorough way to clean grain. The CR sieve area is massive —19 to43% larger than Deere’s—to boostcapacity on flat ground and on slopesup to 15%.

A larger grain tank and fasterunloading speed

You spend less time unloading with aCR combine thanks to bigger grain tanksand a fast unloading rate— 3 bushels persecond. That’s up to 36% faster than thecompetition to keep unloading time to aminimum.

The largest, most productive cabThe New Holland Harvest Suite™ cab

gives you more room and better visibilitythan any other cab on the market. It’s

designed not only for comfort, but forsuperior control. State-of-the art instru-mentation and controls take your abilityto monitor and adjust harvest productivityto a new level.

A reserve of power keeps you atfull capacity

New Holland six-cylinder engineshave a reserve of power to meet anychallenges in the field without losingthreshing speed. These fuel-efficientengines are electronically managed andprovide a power boost to maintain fullcapacity at all times — even whenunloading on the go.

Tighter turns and a smoother rideWhile the wheelbase of CR combines

is significantly longer than previousmodels, turning radius is shorter thanksto a unique offset kingpin steeringgeometry that provides more frameclearance and a sharper turning angle. In fact, the CR turning radius is up to40% tighter than competitor’s combinesfor better maneuverability, as well asadded stability and a smoother ride.

It’s easy to see how the many CRadvantages add up to better productivitythat affects your bottom line. Ready to domore? Read on and learn more about CRTwin Rotor combines and what they cando for your operation. Then visit yourNew Holland dealer.

The Twin Rotor®

design pays off

With sensors both above and below the crop mat, the ASP™ system detects andejects stones that other systems miss.

Faster separation virtually eliminates grain damage and loss.

ASP™ system ejects stonesthat others miss

The New Holland Advanced StoneProtection (ASP™) system uses sensorsabove and below the crop mat to elec-tronically detect and eject stones thatother systems miss, and never impedescrop flow. When the ASP™ system detectsa stone, the head and feeder stop and thefull-width stone ejection door opens toallow stones to escape easily. An alarmand message on the InfoView™ monitoralerts you that the door is open. To con-tinue harvesting, simply reverse andraise the feeder to close the door.

From the prairies of Saskatchewan tothe wheat fields of Texas... from the cornfields of Iowa to the rice fields of theMississippi Delta, the CR Twin Rotor®

design pays off for farm operations, largeand small.

Efficient, inline, undershot feedingTwo rotors are positioned side-by-

side to provide an extra-wide feed open-ing. The width of the CR feeder housematches the full width of the rotors andreleases the crop just under the rotorfeeder augers. This efficient, straightlinefeeding reduces power consumptionand wear. The Twin Rotors are timed toalternately sweep the crop into eachrotor for increased productivity andsmoother feeding

Fast, grain-on-grain threshingNew Holland’s Twin Rotors generate

the highest centrifugal force of anyrotary combine for the fastest separationon the market. The unique “S 3” rotorsuse separator bars that are staggered, segmented and spiraled to control thecrop, moving it evenly and eliminatingbunching of material. The Twin Rotor

chamber promotes a high level of grain-on-grain threshing— a much gentlerthreshing process than metal-on-grainthreshing — to drastically reduce theopportunity for grain damage. The TwinRotors spiral the crop rearward throughthe adjustable concave area, where 100%of the crop is threshed and 90% is separat-ed. The continuous, even flow of crop combines with the extraordinary centrifugal force, causing grain to flowthrough the concave quicker and ontothe grain pan, escaping damage.

Straw, cobs and residue are directed to theresidue manage-ment system by the rotating discharge beater located behind the rotors. In tough harvestingconditions, an adjustable beater allows trapped grain in the straw or residue to pass through the grate and fall onto the cleaning system.

CR self-leveling cleaning system separates grain from chaff naturally.

Extra-high capacity on flat land and hills

6

New Holland engineers havedeveloped a cleaning system thatworks with the forces of nature ratherthan against them, so you get incredi-bly clean grain and incredible operat-ing efficiency on flat ground and onslopes.

SLS self-leveling cleaningsystem works with gravity

While the cleaning systems on othercombines use augers, which actuallyserve to mix grain and chaff together,New Holland’s unique self-levelingcleaning system works with gravity toallow grain and chaff to separate natu-

rally. The entire cleaning system (includ-ing the fan, grain pan and sieves) is keptlevel automatically so the grain alwaysstays uniform for optimum cleaning efficiency.

Since the large grain pan has nodividers, grain can spread out, stratifyand separate easily. The grain pan oscil-lates, lifting and depositing the grainrepeatedly. This shaking motion causesthe heavier material (grain) to move tothe bottom of the mat and to the rear ofthe grain pan, actually pre-classifyingthe grain long before it gets to the sieve.A huge air blast from the cleaning fancarries the residue toward the rear,

while the grain falls through the sieves. This system is incredibly efficient

on flat ground, and is able to main-tain this exceptional cleaning efficien-cy on slopes up to 15%. Also, the SLSsystem banks on end-row turns toreduce grain loss. That means CRcombines continue to operate at fullcapacity— even on hillsides, cornersand terraces. Another benefit—theself-leveling system is very forgiving, allowing you to operate in manycrops and conditions without theneed for repeated fine-tuning.

New Holland combines feature alarge 26.5” diameter cleaning fan thatholds more pressure to suspend thematerial as it moves over the sieveseven during conditions of large volumes of MOG. The patented opendesign delivers large volumes of aircontinuously to the sieves for ultra-efficient cleaning. The fan is hydraulicdriven and features automatic speedretention to retain a constant fanspeed when the engine speed may beslightly reduced under load.

Massive sieve areaThe top and bottom sieves of the

New Holland cleaning system arefully adjustable and provide a massive cleaning area of up to 8,370square inches (10,075 square incheson the CR970). An optional remotesieve adjustment allows you to makeadjustments from the cab or by usingrocker switches at the rear of themachine.

After grain falls from the grain pan,the pre-cleaning sieve improves cleaningefficiency by immediately separatingup to 20% of the stratified grain.

Rethreshed returns are deliveredto the grain pan

A single roto-thresh return systemon the CR940 and a dual returns sys-tem on the two larger models handleany unthreshed grain. A return augerdelivers the material to one or two setsof spike-tooth roto-thresh rotor(s).

These roto-threshers re-thresh the grainand deliver it to the grain pan— notthe rotors— so the capacity of the mainthreshing area is not reduced. Returnvolume is accurately monitored withthe in-cab InfoView™ monitor.

7

New Holland combines feature a large 26.5"diameter cleaning fan that holds more pressureto suspend the material as it moves over thesieves even during conditions of large volumesof MOG. The patented open design deliverslarge volumes of air continuously to the sievesfor ultra-efficient cleaning. The fan is hydraulicdriven and features automatic speed retentionto retain a constant fan speed when the enginespeed may be slightly reduced under load.

The SLS self-leveling cleaning system components (grain pan, cleaning fan and sieves) remainlevel while the lower main frame follows the ground contours. This allows grain to always remainlevel for maximum cleaning efficiency and setting forgiveness.

Terrain TracerTM system allows heads to float over rough ground

8

The full width of the cutterbar stays at your desired cutting height to get more grain.

9

The Terrain Tracer™ lateral floatsystem automatically raises thehead vertically and tilts the headlaterally to follow uneven terrainand get every bit of your crop. Thehead is attached to a pivoting cradleon the front of the feeder house andpivots by means of a hydrauliccylinder that you activate electroni-cally from the cab, or automaticallythrough the use of sensors on thehead that maintain stubble height(standard on flex heads, optional onrigid heads and corn heads). AResume (“R”) button allows you tostore frequently used headerheights. Used with automatic heightcontrol, Terrain Tracer system evensout your field’s rough spots andtakes the worry out of harvestinglow-growing crops on uneven terrain.

The Terrain Tracer system is avail-able on flexible auger heads, on cornheads and direct-cut rigid augerheads. In all cases, the automaticTerrain Tracer system can be manuallyoverridden.

Automatic head control modesmatch your needs

CR combines give you completecontrol of head height with twostandard and one optional operatingmode. The status bar on theInfoView™ monitor lets you knowwhich mode is in operation.

In compensation mode, the headoperates in contact with theground—ideal when harvestingdowned crop or low-growing cropslike peas or beans. You set theground contact pressure, and thesystem maintains that pressure bymonitoring head hydraulic cylinderpressure.

In stubble height mode, the head oper-ates at a specific height from theground, which you select. At theheadlands or when you need to raisethe head momentarily, you can auto-matically return the head to its presetheight with a single switch pulse.

With the optional Autofloat™ headheight control, potentiometer sensorsare installed on the head that measureand monitor head height. Not onlydoes the Autofloat™ system maintaina pre-selected stubble height, itadjusts the head both vertically andlaterally in response to changingground contours.

If the head would contact theground when you’re operating instubble height mode, the compensa-tion mode will automatically takeover, allowing the head to follow theground to protect the head and cutterbar. After the head clears theground, it automatically returns tothe preset stubble height.

Terrain TracerTM can be controlled manuallywith a switch on the hydrostatic lever.

Superior grain handling and residue management

CR combines give you complete control of grain, chaff and straw.

10

11

New Holland’s straw chopper delivers superior chop quality. You adjust the right-hand and left-hand spread with a single lever, or add the optional in-cab adjustment.

New Holland CR combines give youcomplete and effortless control of grainstorage, grain unloading and residuemanagement. Take a look at the CRadvantages:

Ample grain storageLarge grain tank capacities from 255

to 330 bushels with easy-folding exten-sions let you harvest longer with less frequent unloading. Grain tank coversare optional and can be controlled fromthe cab. To sample grain in the tank, anaccess door is provided on the front ofthe grain tank near the cab door.

Two fully-adjustable sensors aremounted in the grain tank to keep youinformed of the grain level. Whengrain reaches the level of the first sen-sor, indicating that the grain tank is75% full, a flashing beacon alerts thegrain cart operator. At 100% capacity, the light is illuminated continuouslyand an audible alarm sounds.

Fast unloading rateWhen it is time to unload,

New Holland saves you valuable timewith an over-the-top unloading systemthat unloads at a rate of three bushelsper second. The CR combine out-classesthe competition by using a large, 14-inch-diameter vertical auger and 13-inch- diameter discharge auger. The 11°tilt of the vertical auger along with the105° bend between the vertical and dis-charge augers improves grain flow effi-ciency. The unloading tube is extendedhydraulically from the cab with the

touch of a single button. The overhead-style unloading auger is available in 21-foot lengthto accommodate the largestheads.

A new concept in residuemanagement

Uniform residue distribution isextremely important — especially inno-till and minimum-till operations.New Holland provides you with achoice of residue managementoptions.

The standard residue managementsystem allows you to change fromspreading chaff and straw to windrow-

ing with the flip of a manual lever. The New Holland straw chopper deliv-ers a fine cut chop quality and spreadpattern to meet customer expectations

The deluxe residue managementsystem provides complete control ofchaff and straw, allowing you tocontrol the three-position strawhood baffle. The deluxe chopper is designed for high-volume crops andwindrowing, and allows you theadded option of windrowing strawover the chopper and spreading thechaff.

Fuel-efficient, 6-cylinder engines are up for any challenge.

Responsive, reliable power

12

CR combine customers quicklynotice and appreciate the power, per-formance and responsiveness of CRengines — especially in adverse cropor field conditions. These hard-work-ing, fuel-efficient, six-cylinderengines have a reserve of power tomeet any challenges you face in thefield—without losing threshing per-formance.

Capacity-matched enginesNew Holland has matched the best

engine to the size and harvestingcapacity of each of the three CR com-bines. The field-proven 7.5-liter NewHolland engine used in the CR940 haslong been known for its superior hightorque and lugging ability. The CR960and CR970 feature state-of-the-art 7.8-and 10.3-liter New Holland engines thatset new standards for excellent perform-ance. Their 24-valve cylinder headdesign improves airflow efficiency forconstant power, low-end torque andfuel economy. And, the full-authorityelectronic fuel injection system controlsfuel rate, engine timing and governingto provide superior power and fueleconomy.

Power boost lets you maintainfull capacity at all times

CR combine engines are electroni-cally managed and provide a powerboost to maintain your productivityeven when unloading on the go —withno time limits. All CR engines featurewastegate turbochargers to ensureoptimum engine power.

Exceptional fuel efficiencyLike the rest of the New Holland

CR combine, CR engines are modelsof efficiency. They employ air-to-airaftercooling to optimize engineintake air temperature and fuel effi-ciency. In addition, all New HollandCR engines use a cross-flowhead design, which prevents intake

air from being pre-heated by thehigh temperature of the exhaustmanifold and ensures that cool, dense intake air is maintained tooptimize combustion efficiency.

Long life is in the designReliability is built into New Holland

CR engines. Their lower 2,100-rpmrated engine speed reduces wear andstress on the engine, reduces noise andimproves fuel economy. Engine andcomponent cooling are given specialconsideration, from the large rotaryscreen and powerful fan that keeps theengine cool and clean to piston oilcooling. Oil is sprayed on the underside of pistons to supply not onlylubrication but to ensure positivecooling of vital components like thepiston, cylinder, piston pin and bear-ing surfaces. All CR combine radiatorsand coolers use an in-line core design, which reduces cleaning intervals and, more importantly, ensures that keycomponents like the engine are proper-ly cooled — especially important if youharvest in hot conditions.

Longer operation between fuelstops.

When the harvesting day runs long, you’ll appreciate the extra fuel capacityof CR combines. The CR970 features a264-gallon fuel tank, while the twosmaller models have a 200-gallon fuelcapacity. That means you only have torefuel after the day’s harvest is done.*

The 6-cylinder,7.5-liter engine used on theCR940 has a history of proven performance. Itcombines a parent-bore block design with hightensile strength, generous cooling passages anda high-flow cooling system to provide superiorperformance and reliability.

Time-saving, one-stop head latching

16

You never waste time with a CRSeries combine—not even whenyou’re connecting, disconnecting orchanging heads. An easy, one-leverlatching system on the left side of thefeeder house operates both left andright latches simultaneously to pro-vide safe, secure, fast head connection.

Most other combines have headlatches and hydraulic hook-ups onboth sides of the feeder house, andrequire you to stoop down or get onyour knees to reach the pins. With aCR combine, there’s no need to kneelon the ground or crawl under themachine!

A hydraulic multi-coupler providesone-step quick connect and disconnectfor all header functions, and a single-location electrical hookup makes connecting the wiring harness easy, too. Both the hydraulic and electricalhook-up are conveniently located in thesame area as the head latching system.

Automatic head recognition informsthe combine which head is installed tofurther simplify head changes.

Big hydraulic capacity handlesbig heads

CR Series combines have lightning-quick hydraulic response thanks to aclosed-center load-sensing (CCLS)hydraulic system. The system only pro-vides oil flow and pressure when needed, reducing power consumption and heatbuild up.

See your New Holland dealer forhead compatibility information.

This hydraulic multi-coupler engages all hydraulic lines with one, over-center latch. It eliminates the need to hook up each header hydraulic circuit one at a time. It’s a system that’s quick, convenient and far less messy.

76C WindrowPickup Heads

The New Holland 76C windrowpickup head is available in 12-,14-and16 foot widths, in SwathMaster™* andRake-Up™* designs. All 76C headsmatch the large capacity of CR com-bines when harvesting cereal grains, beans, peas, lentils, canola or grassseed. Optional automatic head heightcontrol is available on all models tomaintain optimal windrow feed anglefor maximum productivity.

The Rake-Up™ design pickup features a front and rear windguardwith hydraulic adjustment on the frontwindguard. The Rake-Up heads aredesigned for use with all small grainsand specialty crops including canolaand grass seed. They handle crop moregently by utilizing a sideways sweep-ing action to deliver crop onto a slattedtransfer belt. The sideways raking

action of the tines, along with a slowerpickup speed and a steeper entry anglereduce stone pickup and potentialstone damage. The more positive pick-up of this design helps these windrowpickups excel in difficult harvest condi-tions like short, rained down or sprout-ed crop.

SwathMaster™ Belt Pickups usefour individual rollers, a pickup beltthat gently lifts crop into the header

and a draper belt that carries it to theauger and into the feeding area. TwoSwathMaster Belt Pickup options areavailable.• With rear windguard, mechanical

adjustment.• With front and rear windguard,

hydraulic adjustment on the front windguard.

84C Flex-draper HeadsThe New Holland 84C Flex-draper head

is available in 30 and 36 foot cutting widthswith capacity to match the huge appetite ofthe CR and CX combines. A three piece flex-ing frame in conjunction with a two piecereel allows this productive head to followthe ground, getting all the crop and smooth-ly feeding it into the combine. Draper headfeeding has been shown to improve capaci-ty up to 20% over auger heads. This headperforms even better in damp, green,tough-to-feed crops.

Following the ground and getting all

the crop is no problem for the 84C. Thefull suspension design is free to float 7.5inches vertically and 4.8 degrees laterally. The head is designed in three sectionsthat allow the wings to float an additional1.6 degrees both up and down.

The 84C excels in tough conditionsbecause the crop is cut, swept back by thereel and rides on the draper belts, ratherthan being slid along by an auger.Feeding short or sticky crops is alwayspositive with the two piece reel that staysclose to the cutter-bar, sweeping the crop in without inadvertently cutting off thereel tines.

Standard equipment includes remotehydraulic control of the guard angle forcontinuous harvesting in varying crop con-ditions. In addition, the automatic float-optimizer system keeps the head- to-feeder relationship optimum for smoothfeeding.

The “C” shaped cutter-bar allows soiland trash to escape from the belt and rollerarea when harvesting on the ground.

The head can be easily locked into arigid mode for off-ground direct-cutharvesting.

High-accuracy yield andmoisture measurements withless calibration

New Holland’s exclusive, patentedyield sensor design allows accuracywith one crop, one load calibration. The grain flow sensor measures allthe grain continuously for moreaccurate yield measurements. Abalance weight is used to cancel theeffects of variances in grain mois-ture and machine movement. Thesensor plate is mounted in the topof the grain elevator and incorpo-rates a pivoting device and coun-terweight. This design keeps thesystem balanced when working onslopes, and reduces the frictioneffect of various grain moisturesand densities to ensure a precisemeasurement. Unlike other yield

measurement systems, there’s noneed to re-calibrate when youchange crops.** The New Hollandsystem requires calibration onlyonce per season in one crop.***

The CR moisture sensor is mountedin the clean grain elevator housingand constantly samples the grain, measures its electronic conductivity, then calculates and displays themoisture content on the monitor.

The New Holland Global Positioning receiverwith differential correction (DGPS) reportsyour precise geographic location as youharvest. See your New Holland dealer formore information.

The patented New Holland grain mass flow sensor delivers high-accuracy readings regardless ofthe cropand does not require re-calibration between crops.***

* Information is displayed on the standard InfoView™ monitor.** Systems using the IntelliView™ Plus display required one-load calibration per crop type that have significant yield variation*** Improved accuracy is obtainable depending on harvest conditions and machine set up.

Data is collected and stored on a 128mb flashcard.

Map it, analyze it and print itWhen you equip your CR combine

with New Holland’s DGPS system, you can use the valuable field datayou collect with the yield and mois-ture sensors to prepare yield maps

and better understand yield varia-tions. Yield and moisture

readings are storedon a data card, which you candownload into a personal computer.

Using New Holland Precision FarmingSystem’s mapping software, the data canbe viewed and thoroughly analyzed.

New Holland Precision Farming Systemsdesktop software allows for mappingand data conversion from the yieldmonitor system and is capable of reading

and processing yield data from manycompetitive-brand systems. An optionalin-cab printer allows operators to printyield data.

Side shields glide open and steps fold down for full access.

Service access that’s convenient and complete

24

New Holland engineers designed CRcombines with everything you need toeasily access all service areas, so you canharvest earlier and spend less time get-ting ready. The CR’s large, formed-metal, “gull-wing” side shields glideopen effortlessly on gas struts for fullservice access. This ability to reach theentire side of the combine saves youtime and hassles. Optional under-shieldlighting provides a better view in low-light conditions, and an optional on-board compressor allows you to cleanareas of your machine.

Large, swing-up, side panels allow for unobstructed service access.

Everything’s within easy reachService platforms, steps and fold-

away ladders are ready when you are toprovide a secure, easy way to reach allservice areas. A convenient, fold-downladder provides quick access to the rearservice deck where you can convenientlyaccess all major service points as well asthe grain tank. With the engine coverpanel raised, the entire engine area isreadily available.

Rear service deck ladder folds down, making it easyto refuel or carry containers of fluid to the rear deck.

25

Accessing the rotary air screen, A/C condenserand hydraulic oil cooler is also a simple processfrom the rear service deck.

The rear service deck provides convenient access to the engine and grain tank.

Checking and maintaining fluidsrequires much less effort than othercombines. Sight gauges are providedfor both rotor gear cases. Drain linesfor engine oil, hydraulic oil and hydro-static system are located at groundlevel so you can easily catch oil in acontainer on the ground. Three central-ized lube banks reduce the time need-ed to maintain the feeder house andmain countershaft.

Even the rotors are easy to reachLarge access doors make it easy to

reach the rotors and quickly remove orchange concaves and separator grates tomatch crops. Quick-release concaves canbe removed without tools.

Service platforms provide secure footing andeasy access.
