    Notes: (1) (a) No person may import any meat into the Republic except on the authority of a permit issued by the national executive officer. (b) Paragraph (a) does not apply to meat imported for a prescribed purpose or to meet a prescribed weight. (2) Meat in respect of which an import permit has been issued - (a) may only be introduced into the Republic through the place of entry specified in the permit; (b) must be introduced within the period specified in the permit; (c) may only be off-loaded at the place of entry if all the conditions specified in the permit have been complied with; (d) must be stored in the prescribed manner at a facility approved by the national executive officer until the prescribed veterinary procedures or other acts specified in the permit have been performed; and (e) must be available for inspection, sampling and testing by the national executive officer. (3) If the national executive officer has knowledge of meat being brought into the Republic contrary to the provisions of this Act or an import permit, he or she may direct that the meat or any portion thereof may not be off-loaded without his or her written consent or that it may only be off-loaded subject to such conditions as may be necessary. (4) No person may remove any meat stored in a facility contemplated in subsection (5) (d) from that facility unless the national executive officer has authorised the removal thereof. (6) An importation certificate issued in terms of section 14(1)(a) of the Abattoir Hygiene Act, 1992 (Act No. 121 of 1992), and which was in force immediately prior to the commencement of this section is deemed to be an import permit issued in terms of subsection (1)(a). (7)(a) Control over sale of imported products in terms of section 4A of the Agricultural Product Standards Act 1990 (7)(b) The Minister may prohibit sale of a prescribed product imported into the Republic unless such a product complies with provisions of section 3 (1) of the said Act(7)(c) Stipulations of section 3A of the Act are as follows:The Executive officer or assignee may --(i) open any container at or on the place, premises or conveyance on reasonable grounds that such places contains product to which the Act applies;(ii) classify, grade or mark any quantity of a product in accordance with prescription of the relevant regulations published in terms of the said Act;(iii) inspect or cause to inspect any quantity of the product;(iv) inspect or test any quantity of the product to be used in connection with its preparation grading, labelling etc. (v) require the owner to produce for inspection any documents or label or book with regard to the administration of this Act

  • Heading Designation of Goods Prohibition or Restriction Notes:4.6 Control over sale of imported products in terms of section 4A of the Agricultural Product Standards Act 1990. 4.7 The Minister may prohibit sale of a prescribed product imported into the Republic unless such a product complies with provisions of section 3 (1) of the said Act.4.8 Stipulations of section 3A of the Act are as follows:The Executive officer or assignee may --a) open any container at or on the place, premises or conveyance on reasonable grounds that such places contains product to which the Act applies;b) classify, grade or mark any quantity of a product in accordance with prescription of the relevant regulations published in terms of the said Act;c) inspect or cause to inspect any quantity of the product;d) inspect or test any quantity of the product to be used in connection with its preparations grading, labelling etc. e) require the owner to produce for inspection any documents or label or book with regard to the administration of this Act

Importation of dairy and imitation dairy products into the RSA is subject to approval of application for inspection of imported regulated agricultural products in terms of the Agricultural Product Standards Act, 19903. The application will be approved by the Assignee Nejahmogul Technologies and Agric Services inspector and will have date stamp bearing the logo of the company4. The Assignee Nejahmogul Technologies and Agric Services is responsible for:GN R.1510/2019 - Dairy and imitation dairy products for human consumption Examples: milk, flavoured milk and milkshake, cultured milk, buttermilk and cultured buttermilk, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, yoghurt, strained yoghurt and drinking yoghurt/with added foodstuff and/or fruit. cream, cultured cream & acidified cream, cheese with or without added foodstuff, process cheese & cheese spread with or without added foodstuff, cream cheese with or without added foodstuff, cottage cheese with or without added foodstuff, butter and cultured butter with or without added foodstuff, modified butter and cultured modified butter with or without added foodstuff, dairy powder and dairy powder blend, milk fat products, dairy liquid blend and cultured dairy liquid blend, dairy desserts with or without added foodstuff and/or fruit, imitation dairy products.
