or video programs through the Internet. Podcasting is distributed over the Internet

for playback on PCs and multimedia playback devices

Which technology is used to enable podcasting? A person can use any digital audio player or

computer with audio playing devices to play podcasts. It is mostly used on the internet and on some cell phones.

These new media channels have grown out of the technology that support the World Wide Web.

The podcasts have allowed the Web to become a dynamic experience for all.

Who controls Podcasting?

Whoever controls the server controls the podcast.The only way to actually independently

podcast and control it is to get your own server.

There is a minimal or non-existent editorial process, and the recipient is GLOBAL SOCIETY.

What media and information channels will be affected by podcasting? Multiple information channels will be

affected by podcasting technologyEducation, business, leisure, politics, and

entertainment. Example: Presidential debate for 2008

election that allowed people to post questions on Youtube.com

Who should want to control these new media channels? Everyone who wants to be able to access

and provide information to people all over society should seek to control podcasting.

How far should freedom of speech be allowed to go? Podcasting can be on a variety of sources. Freedom of speech should be allowed to

go to a certain extent. As long as the podcast isn’t hurting somebody

or something by bullying or providing false information, then it should be fine.

To what extent is the validity of a source of information dependent on our ability to identify the author? We have to be very careful with podcasting Many people have the ability to post podcasts

and there is not always something to prove that a podcast has valid information.

The validity depends on the reputation of the source and how much one trusts the source to provide correct information.
