　　　8．　Very　closely　relate．d　to　subsp．　boholica　SEMpER　from　Bohol　and　Leyte，　but

on　the　under　surface　the　marginal　black　bapds　of　both　wings　are　narrower；　the

forewing　submarginal　yellow　area　is　somewhat　broader　；　the　hindwing　postdiscal

yellow　area　is　broader　and　extended　beyond　the　postdiscal　series　of　black　spots．

　　This　new　subspecies　again　approaches　to　subsp．　Pariana　SEMpER　from　N．egros，

but　on　the　under　surfae　the　hindwing　di’scal　white　area　is　broader．

　　Differs　from　the　nominate　subspecies　from　Mindanao　as　follows．

　　　8．　On　the　upPer　surface　the．ground　’colour　of　both　wings　is　more　strongly

tinged　with　black；　all　the　bands　and　spots　are　more　sharply　defined　against　the．

ground；the　forewing　upper　postdiscal　and　submarginal　spots　hr6　pure　white，

while　these　spots　are　tinged　with　yellbw　in　subsp．　magindana；the　hindwing

discal　and　postdiscal　yellow　bapds　turn　white　towards　・the　costa．　On　the　under

surface　the　ground　colour　of　both　wings　i＄　lighter；　the　markings　are　somewhat

darker．

　　　Concerning　subsp．　zilana　FRuHsToRFER　from．　Basilan，　FRu｝isToRFER［1913コ

says，　“ln　Bohol　we　find　an．　allied　form　mentioned　by　SEMpER，　but　．unknown　to

me”．　SQ　far　as　we．referred　to　his　description，　however，　Pizarrasi　i’s　distinctly

different　from　2ilana．

smaller　in　size　；　on　th．　e　upper　surface　the　subinarginal　yellow　bands　Qf　both　wings

are　narrower　；　the　outer　margin　of　the　hindwing　submarginal　band　is　less　strong－

ly　projected　between　veins；　the　submarginal　black　spots　in　the　yellow　band　are

somewhat　smaller．

　　　On　the　other　hand，　this　new　subspecies　is　similar　to　subsp．　visのrana　ScHR6DER

＆　TREADAwAy　from　Leyte，　but　smaller　in　size，　on　the　upper　surface　the　sub－

marginal　yellow　bands　of　both　wings　are　broader，’　and　the　hindwing　submarginal

black　spots　in　the　yellow　band　are　smaller．
