Southmead and Henbury Family Practice
Helios medical center
Easton family practice
One of the largest practices in north Bristol comprised of two
surgeries working from Southmead and Henbury.
Based in stoke bishop, it features treatment based in conventional
medicine, homeopathy and anthroposophical medicine.
An inner city practice which has a diverse cultural and ethnical
mix of patients, it shares its premises with Seymour medical
practice

Over 500,000 patients are currently being prescribed warfarin in
the UK, with control being a formidable challenge.
The goal of maintenance therapy is to achieve a simple regimen that
provides anticoagulation within a narrow therapeutic window.

5. Rationale
- The NHS litigation authority reports that errors made with anticoagulant medication are one of the ten most common causes of claims made against NHS trusts
6. Between 1990-2002 there were 600 patient safety incidents
related to warfarin in the UK. 20% were fatal
- Guidelinesconcerning anticoagulation therapy in 2006 and a patient safety alert in 2007 were released by the NPSA.
