Peptacell Whitening Serum promotes lightening and an even skin tone. Alpha Arbutin as the ALPHA (a-glucosidic ) inhibits the activity of tyrosinase MUCH more effectively than other whitening solu-tions. The alpha form offers higher stability and efficacy, leading to a skin lightening active that acts faster and more efficiently leading to much more pronounced diminishing of liver spots (age spots), and an obvious reduction in the degree of skin tanning after UV exposure. Works by limiting both melanin production (tan) and skin reddening (erythema).

Dioic Acid: A Skin brightening ingredient with a new mechanism of action from the heart of the melanocyte. It helps treat skin pigmentation disorders such as freckles, melasma, hyperpigmenta-tion and general dark color of the ethnic skin.

The enzyme tyrosinase is a good target for this interference as it seems to be the limiting factor of the rate of melanogenesis. Many skin lightening ingredients (or claimed as such) are essentially conceived as an inhibitor of this tyrosinase. This particular ingredient is a good candidate for effect-ing melanin synthesis decrease via another, even further upstream, mechanism.
