Product Upgrade: ACEA 2012

The European automobile industry expects lubricants to comply with the ACEA specifications that set the minimum requirements for 4-stroke engine oils. ACEA, the European automobile manufacturers association, represents manufacturers of passenger cars, vans, trucks and buses with production sites in the EU. On top of these specifications, the car manufacturers are free to add complementary requirements of their own.

On average, ACEA updates its specifications every two years. The newer the specifications, the stricter they are. They do this to ensure that lubricants continue to provide sufficient protection for the newest and most innovative engines. The last revision was in 2012.
