1. Introduction:

Twin tower another name is World Trade Center was a largest business center of the world. Rather once it was a largest buildings of the world. Many people and businessman came here to introduce themselves as their business and other various types of purpose. The business world was monitored from these buildings. The report on economic condition of any country was stored in these buildings. It was a linker between or among different types of race, region and culture. The development of the world has been introduced quickly because of the contribution of these buildings. After constricting of World trade center speed of business and socio-economic condition is increased rampantly, most of the decision related to welfare of the world has been signed. Bank, Office, Shopping mall, Hotel and various types of business institution, government economic regulatory body was addressed to these twin towers. As a whole there was an atmosphere for signing up and signing in any types of business related activity.

2. World Trade Center History:

The twin towers of the World Trade Center were more than just buildings. They were proof of New York's belief in itself. Built at a time when New York's future seemed uncertain, the towers restored confidence and helped bring a halt to the decline of lower Manhattan. Brash, glitzy, and grand, they quickly became symbols of New York.

The World Trade Center was conceived in the early 1960s by the Downtown-Lower Manhattan Development Association to revitalize the seedy “radio row” dominated by electronic stores. Chase Manhattan Bank Chairman David Rockefeller, founder of the development association, and his brother, New York governor Nelson Rockefeller, pushed hard for the project, insisting it would benefit the entire city.

In 1962, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey began plans to build the center. Minoru Yamasaki and Associates of Michigan were hired as architect. Eventually, Yamasaki decided on two huge towers. Critics charged that a modern monolith would rob New York of character, ruin the skyline, disrupt television reception, and strain city services. However, the project was approved and construction began in 1966.In order to create the 16-acre World Trade Center site, five streets were closed off and 164 buildings were demolished. Construction required the excavation of more than 1.2 million cubic yards of earth, which was used to create 23.5 acres of land along the Hudson River in lower Manhattan. During peak construction periods, 3,500 people worked at the site. A total of 10,000 people worked on the towers; 60 died during its construction. The north tower was opened in Dec. 1970 and the south tower in Jan. 1972; they were dedicated in April 1973. They were the world's tallest buildings for only a short time, since the Sears Tower in Chicago was completed in May 1973. However, the towers were ranked as the fifth and sixth tallest buildings in the world at the time of their destruction on Sept. 11, 2001.

Four smaller buildings and a hotel, all built nearby around a central landscaped plaza completed the complex. The mall at the World Trade Center, which was located immediately below the plaza, was the largest shopping mall in lower Manhattan. The six basements housed two subway stations and a stop on the PATH trains to New Jersey.

Some 50,000 people worked in the buildings, while another 200,000 visited or passed through each day. The top floor observation deck had 26,000 visitors daily, who could see for 45 mi on a clear day. From the ground, the towers were visible for at least 20 mi. The complex had its own zip code, 10048.In 1993 terrorists drove a truck packed with 1,100 lbs of explosives into the basement-parking garage at the World Trade Center. Despite the size of the blast—it left a crater 22 ft wide and five stories deep

Page 2: new twin t

—only six people were killed and 1,000 injured. The towers were repaired, cleaned, and reopened in less than a month. On the morning of September 11, 2001, terrorists from al-Qaeda hijacked four planes. Two were Boston-to-Los Angeles flights, which the hijackers diverted to New York City. At 8:45 a.m., American Airlines Flight 11 was flown into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Eighteen minutes later, United Airlines Flight 175 was flown into the south tower. Each plane was loaded with sufficient jet fuel for its intended cross-country trip, which ignited upon impact, creating intense fireballs in both towers and weakening the structural integrity of each. At 9:50 a.m., the affected floors of the south tower gave way; the upper floors collapsed onto the lower ones, destroying the tower and crushing everyone who was still inside it. At 10:29 a.m., the same happened to the north tower. 2,824 people were killed in the attacks, including hundreds of firefighters and other rescue workers.(Of the other two hijacked planes, one was crashed into the Pentagon; the other crashed southeast of Pittsburgh, apparently as a result of its passengers fighting the hijackers. There were no survivors.)In 2002, separate design contests were held for rebuilding the World Trade Center site and creating a memorial for the victims of the attacks. The first round of finalists for the site, unveiled in July 2002, were widely criticized as being too boring and having too much of an emphasis on office space, leading to a new round of finalists in December.

In February 2003, the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation, which was established by Governor Pataki to coordinate the various agencies and advisory committees involved in the rebuilding efforts, chose architect Daniel Libeskind's design for rebuilding the 16-acre site of the former World Trade Center. The design included a hanging garden, a memorial, a cultural center, and Freedom Tower, which would be a symbolic 1,776 feet tall from the ground to the top of its spire. This would make it taller than any building currently standing in the world. (The Burj Dubai skyscraper currently under construction in the United Arab Emirates is expected to be higher, however.)In July 2003, David Childs was brought in as the new lead architect of Freedom Tower, although Libeskind remained in charge of designing the site in general. The two had different visions for the tower; a design combining the approaches of both architects was unveiled in December 2003. It would include wind turbines in its spire, designed to generate as much as 20% of the building's power. On July 4, 2004, New York Governor Pataki, New Jersey Governor McGreevey, and New York City Mayor Bloomberg laid the cornerstone for Freedom Tower. The skyscraper, estimated to cost $1.5 billion, was expected to be ready for its first occupants by late 2008, while construction on the site in general was expected to last through 2015.

Just as construction was beginning, security concerns were raised, leading to a complete redesign of the tower. The new plans were released on June 29, 2005. The tower is to be moved further back from the street, and will have a cubic base the same size as each of the Twin Towers. The wind turbines have been eliminated. The design recalls that of the old buildings, while adding its own twists: starting with the square base, the tower's design moves to triangular forms, creating an octagon in the middle, and culminates in a square at the top, rotated 45 degrees from the base. A spire will rise a bit more than 400 feet beyond that, to retain the planned total height of 1,776 feet.Work on excavating the foundation finally got underway in late April 2006. Refined plans were announced in June 2006, calling for glass prisms around a concrete base, to liven up the area while meeting security requirements. The tower is now planned to cost $2 billion, and be ready for occupants in 2011.

The Lower Manhattan Development Corporation announced in January 2004 that architects Michael Arad and Peter Walker had won a competition to design the memorial to the people who died at the World Trade Center. There had been more than 5,000 entries in the competition. The memorial, Reflecting Absence, would honor those who died at the World Trade Center in terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993. In the 1993 tragedy, a truck bomb exploded in a garage in the north tower, killing six people and injuring more than a thousand.Reflecting Absence, which will be built where the Twin Towers once stood, includes two shallow pools surrounded by leafy trees. The names of the victims would be etched in walls around the pools.

Page 3: new twin t

“In its powerful, yet simple articulation of the footprints of the Twin Towers, Reflecting Absence has made the gaping voids left by the towers' destruction the primary symbol of loss,” said Vartan Gregorian, who chaired the jury that chose the winner. The memorial plans were redesigned in June 2006 due to security concerns, budgetary issues, and input from the victims' families. The central features—including the two pools, fed by waterfalls—will be retained. The names of those killed would be moved to the surrounding plaza, above ground.

Construction will begin in 2006, and the memorial is scheduled to open on Sept. 11, 2009.

3. Cause of Twin Tower mishap:There are many types of causes can be identified for the destruction of twin tower. From them some of the main causes are mentioned and discussed below:

A. One aid policy of USA.B. Loss of balance of power.C. Imbalance in strength between rival groups.D. Miss interpretation of Islamic philosophy.E. Media is in the control of the western world.

A. One Aid Policy of USA:It is to be considered that USA is the superpower of the world. But they do not use their power in respect of social welfare. They always highlights that they are the one and their power is infinity because of they do not believe Allah. If USA utilizes their power equally for every country of the world so they may be praised. But it is seems that they always introduce their one aid policy. There are many of the country of the world facing internal political unrest and facing unrest with their neighborhood country. In this field USA always take a side, whose are the flatterers of the USA. Considering the situation between Israel and Palestine, USA always influences Israel to attack the innocent people of the Palestine. Many types of steps were taken to stop the war but every thing was failed because the USA does not move their position from their one aid policy. As a result, Palestine’s people are sufferings painful days an aeon to aeon. But America is saying that they are getting speared of peace for the world. This one aid policy of America is the most important cause of the destruction policy of twin tower.

B. Loss of Balance of Power:

America always thinks they are the one and their power is balanced. It is right; nobody will attack them from face to face, but in the world lot of people wants to destroy America because they are oppressed. This has been occurred in case of twin tower. Enemy does not capable to attack them face to face because they are small groups and USA is the supreme power so they made ambush to imbalanced American super power and I think, it will be continued until the destruction of America.

C. Imbalance in Strength between Rival Group:

The rival country and the rival group want to climb themselves to the top but they are not powerful than USA. They have an imbalanced strength. So they are making attack to the buildings like twin tower and various important architectural work of USA.

D. Miss Interpretation of Islamic Philosophy:

Islam is the region of peace. But American does not consider this unique truth. America perverts Islamic philosophy and published because they are holding lot of power, nobody will ask them why they are doing this false interpretation. It is right that Islam is unique. Islam does not support any terrorist activities. If any statement published or going to publish against Islam, Muslim race will never allow it. Because any kinds of disfavor activity against Islam means making a buffet to the Muslim race. But America is doing this. They always charged Muslim, they said Muslim means terrorist. But they cannot be proved that Muslims are terrorists. Many terrorists’ activities that have been occurred in the various countries of the world from the earlier period from when people are living in the earth to now more than 80 percent terrorist activities has happened by the Non-Muslim race, this statement is proved by the Non-Muslim people. But USA always express that Muslim-Ummah are the terrorist. There is some documents that will prove Muslim’s will not be terrorist it is not their race and principles:

The entire Qur'an, taken as a complete text, gives a message of hope, faith, and peace to a faith community of one billion people. The overwhelming message is that peace is to be found through faith in God, and justice among fellow human beings.

At the time the Qur'an was revealed (7th century A.D.), there was no United Nations or Amnesty International to keep the peace or expose injustice. Inter-tribal violence and vengeance was commonplace. As a matter of survival, one must have been willing to defend against aggression from all sides. Nevertheless, the Qur'an repeatedly urges forgiveness and restraint, and warns believers not to "transgress" or become "oppressors." Some examples:

If anyone slays a person- unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land –it would be as if he slew all people. And if anyone saves a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all people. Qur'an 5:32

Invite all to the way of your Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching. And argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious... And if you punish, let your punishment be proportional to the wrong that has been done to you. But if you show patience, that is indeed the best course. Be patient, for your patience is from God. And do not grieve over them, or distress yourself because of their plots. For God is with those who restrain themselves, and those who do good. Qur'an 16:125-128

Oh you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be against rich or poor, for God can best protect both. Follow not the cravings of your hearts, lest you swerve, and if you distort justice or decline to do justice, verily God is well acquainted with all that you do. Qur'an 4:135

The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree), but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from God, for God loves not those who do wrong. But indeed, if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong done to them, against such there is no cause of blame. The blame is only against those who oppress men with wrongdoing and insolently transgress beyond bounds through the land, defying right and justice. For such there will be a penalty grievous (in the Hereafter). But indeed, if any show patience and forgive, that would truly be an affair of great resolution. Qur'an 42:40-43

Goodness and evil are not equal. Repel evil with what is better. Then that person with whom there was hatred, may become your intimate friend! And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self-restraint, none but people of the greatest good fortune. Qur'an 41:34-35

The Qur'an commands Muslims to stick up for themselves in a defensive battle -- i.e. if an enemy army attacks, then Muslims are to fight against that army until they stop their aggression. All of the verses that speak about fighting/war in the Qur'an are in this context.

Page 5: new twin t

There are some specific verses that are very often "snipped" out of context, either by critics of Islam discussing "jihadism," or by misguided Muslims themselves who wish to justify their aggressive tactics.

"Slay Them" - If They Attack You FirstFor example, one verse (in its snipped version) reads: "slay them wherever you catch them" (Qur'an 2:191). But who is this referring to? Who are "they" that this verse discusses? The preceding and following verses give the correct context:

"Fight in the cause of God those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for God loves not transgressors. And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter... But if they cease, God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful... If they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression" (2:190-193).

It is clear from the context that these verses are discussing a defensive war, when a Muslim community is attacked without reason, oppressed and prevented from practicing their faith. In these circumstances, permission is given to fight back -- but even then Muslims are instructed not to transgress limits, and to cease fighting as soon as the attacker gives up. Even in these circumstances, Muslim are only to fight directly against those who are attacking them, not innocent bystanders or non-combatants.

"Fight the Pagans" - If They Break TreatiesA similar verse can be found in chapter 9, verse 5 -- which in its snipped, out of context version could read: "fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them, and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war)." Again, the preceding and following verses give the context.

This verse was revealed during a historical period when the small Muslim community had entered into treaties with neighboring tribes (Jewish, Christian, and pagan). Several of the pagan tribes had violated the terms of their treaty, secretly aiding an enemy attack against the Muslim community. The verse directly before this one instructs the Muslims to continue to honor treaties with anyone who has not since betrayed them, because fulfilling agreements is considered a righteous action. Then the verse continues, that those who have violated the terms of the treaty have declared war, so fight them... (as quoted above).

Directly after this permission to fight, the same verse continues, "but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity, then open the way for them... for God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful." The subsequent verses instruct the Muslims to grant asylum to any member of the pagan tribe/army who asks for it, and again reminds that "as long as these stand true to you, stand ye true to them: for God loves the righteous."

But USA ignored above universal truth and many of the hard minded Muslim does not except it causing twin tower may be destroyed.

F. Media is in the control of the western world:

Media – one of the important weapons of any country or nation through which nation can introduce them politically, culturally and many other sides. The western world took the facility and invests to the media so this sector come into the pump of western world. Now they are introducing them from different angles, as they are only one race that are developed, educated, politically freedom, and so on. But behind this picture they are doing lot of corruption, terrorism and making plan to destroy humanity and those entire activity related fault goes to the non-developed race basically Muslim-Ummah. Because non-developed race cannot introduce them through media due to the one aid activity of their parents. American’s are using media as silent weapon to destroy the third world and under-developed country. For this reason, they say – Muslims are the terrorist and all the civil society

Page 6: new twin t

believing them. But the actual truth is the entire occurrence that is happening in the world maximum of them is occurring by those countries whose are declared them as a developed race. If it were so the actual truth is everywhere and the media expressing their concept and news properly, so how would be in the future? But it will not happen anymore, causing media is under control of the western world. This may be the reason of twin tower mishap.

4. Effects of Twin Tower Mishap:

Effects of Twin Tower mishap is much dreadful like lot of people’s death and injure, loss of lot of money, critical environmental destruction and other long-term effects. As a whole we can classify the effects of twin tower mishap by the following two types:

A. Short-term effects.B. Long-term effects.

A. Short-term Effects:

The short-term effects cannot be estimated properly that how much people was death, how many offices was destroyed and lost their essential documents and assets, how much assets were converted into ash. But it could be said that the instant loss of twin tower mishap was maximum. The twin tower states became rubbish, two plans were crusted, about 2992 people’s death with 19 hijackers, 6000 plus people were injured, disfavor environmental impact, on the town, many of the people lost their job and so on.

B. Long term Effects:

It is also not estimated like the short-term effects. But many specialists and insurance company try to estimate the total losses. Rather there is confusion because the value of the people’s life (that people are death and injured) cannot be measured in terms of money. So there is some discussion of the losses and effects of twin tower mishap that is visible are discussed below:

B. I. Economic Effects:

The attacks had a significant economic impact on the United States and world markets. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the American Stock Exchange (AMEX), and NASDAQ did not open on September 11 and remained closed until September 17. When the stock markets reopened, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) stock market index fell 684 points, or 7.1%, to 8921, a record-setting one-day point decline.

By the end of the week, the DJIA had fallen 1,369.7 points (14.3%), its then-largest one-week point drop in history, though later surpassed in 2008 during the global financial crisis. U.S. stocks lost $1.4 trillion in value for the week. This is equivalent to $1.69 trillion in present day terms.

Economist and Crisis Consultant Randall Bell were retained by the city and state of New York to compute the economic damages to The World Trade Center site. He writes in his book, Strategy 360, "The World Trade Center damages, estimated by the New York City Mayor's Office, were staggering: Clean up and stabilization of the WTC site - $9.0 billion; Repairing and replacing damaged infrastructure - $9.0 billion; Rebuilding the World Trade Center as smaller buildings - $6.7 billion; Repairing and restoring other damaged buildings - $5.3 billion; Lost rent of the destroyed buildings - $1.75 billion."

In New York City, about 430,000 job-months and $2.8 billion in wages were lost in the three months following the 9/11 attacks. The economic effects were mainly focused on the city's export economy sectors. The city's GDP was estimated to have declined by $27.3 billion for the last three months of 2001 and all of 2002. The Federal government provided $11.2 billion in immediate assistance to the Government of New York City in September 2001, and $10.5 billion in early 2002 for economic development and infrastructure needs.

Page 7: new twin t

The 9/11 attacks also hurt small businesses in Lower Manhattan near the World Trade Center, destroying or displacing about 18,000 of them. Assistance was provided by Small Business Administration loans and federal government Community Development Block Grants and Economic Injury Disaster Loans. Some 31.9 million square feet of Lower Manhattan office space was damaged or destroyed.

Many wondered whether these jobs would return, and the damaged tax base recovers. Studies of the economic effects of 9/11 show that the Manhattan office real-estate market and office employment were less affected than initially expected because of the financial services industry's need for face-to-face interaction.

North American air space was closed for several days after the attacks and air travel decreased upon its reopening, leading to nearly a 20% cutback in air travel capacity, and exacerbating financial problems in the struggling U.S. airline industry.

B.II. Health Effects:

The thousands of tons of toxic debris resulting from the collapse of the Twin Towers consisted of more than 2,500 contaminants, including known carcinogens. This has led to debilitating illnesses among rescue and recovery workers, which many claim to be directly linked to debris exposure. For example, NYPD Officer Frank Macri died of lung cancer that spread throughout his body on September 3, 2007; his family contends the cancer is the result of long hours on the site and they have filed for line-of-duty death benefits, which the city has yet to rule on.

Health effects have also extended to some residents, students, and office workers of Lower Manhattan and nearby Chinatown. Several deaths have been linked to the toxic dust caused by the World Trade Center's collapse and the victims' names will be included in the World Trade Center memorial. There is also scientific speculation that exposure to various toxic products in the air may have negative effects on fetal development. Due to this potential hazard, a notable children's environmental health center is currently analyzing the children whose mothers were pregnant during the WTC collapse, and were living or working near the World Trade Center towers.

Legal disputes over the attendant costs of illnesses related to the attacks are still in the court system. On October 17, 2006, federal judge Alvin Hellerstein rejected New York City's refusal to pay for health costs for rescue workers, allowing for the possibility of numerous suits against the city. Government officials have been faulted for urging the public to return to lower Manhattan in the weeks shortly following the attacks. Christine Todd Whitman, administrator of the EPA in the aftermath of the attacks, was heavily criticized for incorrectly saying that the area was environmentally safe. President Bush was criticized for interfering with EPA interpretations and pronouncements regarding air quality in the aftermath of the attacks. In addition, Mayor Giuliani was criticized for urging financial industry personnel to return quickly to the greater Wall Street area.

Causing the twin tower mishap aviation industry, Tourism, hotel industry, transport industry, education sector, garments sector and immigration sector are affected that is the world’s economic sector are drastically drop down.

5. Analysis of Twin Tower Mishap as a Risk:

The destruction of twin tower there we found lot loses but how much risk it was? If we want to find out the risk, we need to enough knowledge about risk, types of risk and so on. For analyzing the risk there is some important discussion about risk are given below:

5. A. Definition of Risk:

Page 8: new twin t

The Dictionary meaning of the word risk is uncertainty of loss. But mere uncertainty or loss does not constitute risk in insurance. In insurance risk has got a special meaning. Risk in insurance means uncertainty of loss, which is measurable in terms of money. Let us take some example – when there is uncertainty of loss but as because they cannot be measured so it will not come within the scope of insurance. Such as –

1. Loss of popularity2. Loss of morale value3. Loss of youth.

In conclusion we can say risk in insurance means uncertainty of loss, which is measurable in terms of money.

5. B. Types of Risk:

Risk can be classified under the following four types – I. Speculative risk,

II. Pure risk,III. Particular risk, andIV. Fundamental risk.

5. B. I. Speculative risk:

Speculative means something that changes very frequently. For example, Share market is a speculative market because price of share changes very frequently. In speculative risk there is the chance of profit or chance of loss. Speculative arises from changing price level. If a man has a got a lot inventory of goods and if the price increases in future he will make a profit. On the other hand, if price decrease in future, he will incur a loss. But what is going to happen in future it cannot be predicted correctly. That is the risk, which is known as speculative risk. Speculative risk is not covered by insurance. It is because in speculative risk there is the chance of profit and insurance will never allow us to make profit. It is a fundamental principal of in insurance. So speculative risk is not covered by insurance.

5. B. II. Pure risk:

In pure risk, there is the chance of loss or there is the no loss and there is no chance of profit. For example, there is the destruction of a building by fire, or accident of a car. If the building damage by fire or the car meets an accident there is a loss. But no loss will happen, if there is no fire or there is no accident of the car. Absence of fire or accident will not give any profit. As because in pure risk there is no chance of profit so it is covered by insurance.

5. B. III. Particular risk:

Particular risk arises from loses that have their origin in individual events. An individual feels the impact of such a risk. Essentially a particular risk is personal both in case a effect. Some examples of particular risk are as follows:

a. Burning of a house,b. Stranding of a ship,c. Reverie of a Bank,d. Accident of a car.

5. B. IV. Fundamental risk:

Fundamental risk arises from losses that are impersonal in origin and also in consequence. An individual does not cost these losses and the impact of such a loss falls on the entire group of the society. The sources of fundamental risk are as follows:

a. Social interdependency,b. Physical occurrence.

Page 9: new twin t

5. B. IV. a. Social interdependency: Most fundamental risk originates in the economic, political, legal interdependency of a society. Some example of fundamental risk arising from social interdependency are-

Unemployment, Inflation, War.

5. B. IV. b. Physical occurrence:

Fundamental risk may also arise from physical occurrence. Some examples of fundamental risk arising from physical occurrence are:

Earth quack, Land slack, Cyclone, Tsunami and Title board.

It is to be noted that man has got little control or no control of fundamental risk arising from physical occurrence.

6. Analysis of Risk:

Twin Tower mishap was a tragical chapter of the world. When it was destroyed many people has lost their every things. In general think it was considered that it was a particular risk. But after little moment it must be cleared that Twin Tower mishap was not a particular risk rather it was a fundamental risk. Because of the destruction of Twin Tower, not only an individual felt the impact but also America as well as the whole world has felt the impact of that event. There is a question may arise, how the world has felt? At first of the discussion it is said that another name of Twin Tower is World Trade Center. That means most of the business organizations’ economic policy has been designed, implemented, maintained or monitored from those buildings. Now a day, it is considered that the relationship between or among peoples or business organizations or countries is build through economic interpersonal relationship. Causes of Twin Tower mishap this relation has broken down that means economic situation of the whole world has been destroyed. As a result, every people of the world felt that painful situation and every people felt the risk of bad economic, social and individual pain over the world. So according to the definition of different types of risk Twin Tower mishap is not a particular risk, it is a fundamental risk.

7. Conclusion:

World Trade Center was a largest business center of the world. Around 100000 peoples are engaged to earn directly due to these buildings and it is impossible to determine that how much peoples are involved indirectly in the trade center. Either America or Al-Qayeda who ever is involved to destroy WTC, it can be said that they are not a human being; they do not want social welfare. Because of the occurrence was an abominable barbarity of the century. Who ever the enemy it should not be considerable because there is a question of humanity. If this types of occurrence will be occurred again and again so it will be kecked to the civility and the persons who will involve in this types of black work those could not be a human being; they must devil.
