Day 1 – 29/12/2020 - Funchal

Day 2 – 30/12/2020 - Funchal

Breakfast at the Hotel. Free day to stroll through the

center of the city, re-committing visit the Cathedral of

Funchal, the Farmers Market, the Botanical Garden, visit

the embroidery shops and the cellars of madeira wines or

take a tour of the island. Accommodation.

New Year in Madeira Island – 6 days

Breakfast at the Hotel and departure to Full Day Tour by to

Porto Moniz. On this tour, get ready to be amazed by

panoramic views of madeira's west coast. First, we will visit

the typical fishing village of the Chamber of Lobos, well

known for fishing for black cablefish and typical Poncha

drink. It is a picturesque place with colorful fishing boats,

these charming views inspired Winston Churchill to paint

his famous photos of the region. On the way to the small

town of Ribeira Brava, we will stop at Cabo Girão, one of

the highest sea cliffs in Europe, 580m away. Be brave and

walk along the glass floor skywalk extending over the top

of the cliff and admire the incredible views. The trip will

continue to Encumeada - this view offers a superb view on

both sides of the island (north and south) can be seen at

the same time (weather permitting). On the way to Porto

Moniz we will take the road along Paulo da Serra - the

largest and most extensive plateau of the island at 1400m

above the sea - enjoy the green landscape of mountains

and valleys. Next stop in Porto Moniz – located in the north

of the island, a city known for its natural pools formed from

Vulcanrocks. Return to Funchal in the late afternoon,

evening dinner of New Year's Eve with drinks.

Day 3 – 31/12/2020 – Funchal / Porto Moniz / Funchal



Stay at the hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. Live day for

activities to personal taste, taking advantage of the mild

temperatures that are felt every year on this Island and

visiting the center that on this day has a very special

animation.

Day 4 – 01/01/2021 – Funchal

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for a full-day tour. On

this tour, we will explore the east side of Madeira Island,

the first visit will be the traditional village of Camacha,

famous for its beautiful wicker works, and we stop to take a

look, visit the factory where you can see artisans working

and buying items from a vast collection available. Next, we

will take a scenic tour of the Laurissilva forest to Poiso and

Pico do Areeiro - It is the third highest peak in Madeira,

1818m above sea level. As we climb the mountain, there

are spectacular views, weather permitting, you'll see cotton

clouds in the valleys. The journey will continue along the

enchanted Laurissilva forest to Ribeiro Frio, Natural Park,

where you can take a look around the trout hatchery. On

the way to Santana, admire the vegetation of the fields and

local farmers. In Santana, beautiful village in the north of

the island, you can visit the famous small triangular

thatched houses. Driving to the north coast, we will stop in

Portela - lookout 670m from where you can see the

impressive rock formation of Penha D ́Águia. Then we will

head towards Ponta de São Lourenço, enjoy the

breathtaking landscape and wild landscape with amazing

rock formations from the easternmost point of the island.

Before returning to Funchal, we will pass through Machico,

the first place where Zarco and Tristan Vaz Teixeira landed

when Madeira was discovered. I return to Funchal in the

late afternoon.

Day 5 – 02/01/2021 – Funchal / Camacha / Pico do Areeiro / Santana



Breakfast at Hotel. Free time for activities to personal

taste. On time determine private transportation to the

airport for boarding and departure formalities on the

chosen flight.
