Our Brigade has been successful in receiving State Government funds through the CFA for a much-needed extension of our station. So, if you see building works going on next time you drive past, that’s what’s going on. We hope work will commence soon and be completed before the fire season. In winter months, it can be difficult to get the clothes dried outside on the line, and many people may use drying racks or a clothes drier. Please take care to prevent house fires this winter. Remember to keep wet clothing at least 1 metre from heaters or fireplaces and never leave them unattended. Always use a fire screen in front of an open fire. If using a clothes dryer, make sure it is regularly maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Clean the lint filter every time you use the tumble dryer. Lack of care for clothes dryers can cre- ate unsafe conditions which may cause a fire. Jindi Landcare group recently hosted a group of volunteers from NAB. Each year volunteers from the bank come out from the city to help out a local farmer to plant trees on their farm as part of their giving back to the community. This year a group of 20 vol-unteers planted over 1500 plants at Chris & Charmaine's dairy farm in a morning!

The volunteers worked hard & also experienced a taste of farm life and some local hospitality! The Landcare group appreciates all the volunteers who give up their time each year to support local farmers! This initiative was started quite a few years ago by a Jindi Landcare member who works with the NAB. Thanks to all who came and helped!

With a few new families joining the local

community, we are hoping to organise a

catch up or activities. If you are interested

or have ideas, please contact Kathryn

Burke on 0411351134

JINDI LANDCARE GETS SOME HELP FROM NAB! LOCAL MUMS

AGM Monday 4th Sept 7:30pm

Guest Speaker is Peter Ware, local passion-ate naturalist and photographer from Gouldiae's Nature Blog.

Jindi Market needs your ideas!

The Jindivick market has been running for several years now, with support from the Jindivick Progress Association.

Unfortunately, the past year has shown a steady decline in support by visitors and stall holders for our little market.

If the market continues to make a financial loss for the JPA, we will have no alternative but to stop running this event.

Do you have any ideas of what the JPA could do to revitalise the market? Can you help with volunteer support?

If so, please contact Nikki Cadzow, before the end of July on ph 56285361/0447776178 or [email protected]
