Come Celebrate 100 Years!
“Let Your work appear to Your servants, And Your glory to their children.
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us, And establish the work
of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.”
Psalm 90:17-18 NKJV
Our God is faithful! Our God is good! More than anything, as we come together to celebrate Zion’s 100th Anniversary this month, we are celebrating God’s faithfulness, his goodness and his grace among us through the generations. We celebrate the salvation of Christ which has been made known to us and which we in our turn are making known! This celebration is for the old and the young,

~ AWANA NEWS ~
Congratulations to our January Clubbers of the Month: Sparks – Josie Griess & Hudson
DeVos; T&T – MarLee Neu & Coleton Morgan and Trek – Anna Schick. Way to go, Club-
bers! We only have a couple months left!
We started out February right on Saturday, the 1st, as T&T clubbers from the Panhandle
area AWANA clubs (and one club from Laramie, WY) gathered at Monument Bible Church
for Bible Quiz competition. We continue to be fairly low in numbers – but NOT low in
enthusiasm!!! We had two boy’s teams: Nathan Schick competed in Ultimate Adventure –
Book 1 and took first place. Micah Schick competed in Ultimate Challenge – Book 1 and
took third place. We are SO PROUD of you, Nathan & Micah!!! Thank you for represent-
ing Zion well!!!
The following day, Sunday, February 2nd, was Sports Day. We had many different teams/
sports represented. We met from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. so that everyone had time to
get to their Super Bowl parties. When I asked who was cheering for the Broncos, the
Seahawks, the Commercials or didn’t care - it was pretty even! Ha!!!☺ During Council
Time, Sparks thru Trek, listened as I interviewed our own Holly Walker (the lone senior
student leader this club year) and then answered questions from the clubbers and lead-
ers. (I jokingly told Holly that she didn’t need to see the questions I
would be asking her since she has had to think fast on her feet with all
of the interview questions she’s had to answer in the pageants she’s
participated in.)
The weather changed our club meeting plans on Sunday, February 9th.
We haven’t had a snow day in quite a few years – so we weren’t sure how
to act . . . but that lasted
only about five minutes
before we were hunkered
down under our blankets
taking a nap. ☺
I planned a surprise indoor picnic for our club meeting on Sunday,
February 16th for the clubbers and leaders to celebrate Valentine’s
Day as well as to shake the cold winter weather. I think everyone
enjoyed the grilled hotdogs, chips, Capri-Sun’s and candy/Valentine
treat!!! (I didn’t ask permission as I did it at the last minute – but
thanks to the Ladies Guild for the artificial miniature roses and glass rose bowls for centerpieces on the table-
cloths.)
As of this writing, we are looking forward to Grandparent’s Night
on the last Sunday in February, the 23rd. Then, it is on to March
Madness!!! (Even in the midst of “fun madness” it is important to
remember that GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!)
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the 100th Anniversary Celebration of
Zion Church the weekend of March 22nd & 23rd, we will NOT be
having club on March 23rd.

MISSIONS UPDATES:
2013 Missions Distribution was approved and distributed to: Erin Kampbell (AVANT); Mr. and Mrs. Rick Hattan (AWANA); Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hofmann (AWANA); Camp Rock; Jews for Jesus; KCMI; Mr. and Mrs. Don Osman (LEAD); Panhandle Love in Action; Samaritan’s Purse; Zion AWANA Club; Zion Sunday School and Zion Missions. This represents four inter-national missions; two national missions and six lo-cal missions. Our committee completed a Missions State-ment and Vision Statement this year. We hope to complete setting written goals for Zion Mission. The Missions Committee approved to change from supporting Pastor Bhatti who was located in Pakistan to supporting Pastor K’Shem in Vietnam. This was done because all pastors from Pakistan have been taken out from this country since it is closed to American citizens and VOM is unable to au-dit the program there. It also approved of supporting monthly, Jews for Jesus. Zion Missions is not a monthly budgeted line item in Zion’s annual budget. Our support only comes from individuals who donate to the general fund of Missions. However, we are privileged to give monthly in supporting KCMI, VOM and Jews for Je-sus. We also give support to RBC (Our Daily Bread), IOU Salvation Poem cards and Jeremiah House. We ask that you please consider giving to the Missions general fund to help us to be consistently faithful in supporting these ministries that help to reach others for Christ and encourage them to grow in hearing and knowing His Word. Our committee completed a Mis-sions Statement and Vision Statement this year. Tuvya and Ellen, our missionaries from Jews for Jesus sent us an update. Tuvya shared from Lamentations; “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”. The Israel staff just completed Behold Your God, Negev campaign this fall. They received a total of 841 con-tacts out of which they gave 832 of them either a New
Testament or another form of gospel Y’Shua or Be-
trayed; 181 of these contacts still are asking for more information. In April there will be an outreach at the Rosen Center in Tel Aviv showing Promise Land: Is-
rael through the Eyes of Surfers. He asked us to pray for his work with their Israel board of directors. He is very encouraged at the increased interest in the Gos-pel in Israel. He states the increased interest in the Gospel is indicative of a spiritual movement that is underway. It is much like the first wave of young American Jews who came to faith in Jesus during the 1970s. Ours was a first generation of Jewish believ-ers in modern times. A second wave of Jewish conver-sions to Jesus broke out in the Former Soviet Union
during the 1990s. Many of them have moved on to the US and Israel. They believe a third wave might be under way in Israeli now among Jews, Arabs and expatriates. Now the remnant of Jews in Is-rael, who love the Lord Jesus, exceeds the number of faithful to Yahweh in the days of Elijah, more than 7,000! Linda Peterson, Mission’s Secretary

Zion Sunday School News ~ As you can see the winter is in full swing and we are hoping for an early spring. The officers of the Sunday School and Education Committee will be meeting soon with the Sunday School teachers to discuss several things: curriculum and reviews of samples and feedback; our 100th Anni-versary coming up very soon in March; and Vaca-tion Bible School and what theme we want to do. We would like to do something special for the kids on that 100th Anniversary Sunday…maybe a spe-cial treat! ☺ Please mark your calendars for Vaca-tion Bible School, June, 9-13th. We have already had people planning to take vacation to help us and we praise the Lord for that! It is a special week sharing the gospel with kids. If you can help, please let us know. God Bless!
