The institute organized International Conference on 'Current Reality and Emerging Trends in Global th thManagement Practices' on 11 - 13 Jan, 2013. It was inaugurated by Dr. W. N. Gade, Vice Chancellor,

University of Pune, Pune. The Guests of honour were Dr. Abhayaji Firodia, Chairman and Managing

Director, Force Motors Ltd. Pune and Dr. E. B. Khedkar, Dean, Faculty of Management, University of Pune, thPune on 11 Jan, 2013. The Key-Note-Session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Y. K. Bhushan, Vice Chancellor,

ICFAI University, Meghalaya. Other key speakers were Mr. Sanjay Jorapur, Executive Vice President &

Global Head of Human Resources, Crompton & Greaves, Ahmednagar and Dr. Ashok Joshi, Director,

Indsearch, Pune. Technical sessions were held on the sub-themes like General Management, Marketing

management, Financial management ,Human resource management and IT Management. More than 100

original research papers were received. The best paper in each sub theme was awarded with Rs.10,000/- for

faculty members and Rs.5,000/- for students.

50 faculty members from different institutions of

Pune, Nasik, Aurangabad and Ahmednagar attended

the programme. In this session Dr. Mahanama

enlightened various aspects of teaching which

included proper communication, punctuality,

discipline, dedication, etc. H lso discussed the

importance of role of teacher as a leader and

motivator.

A quiz competition on the basis of Business Standard

Newspaper was organized for MBA students on th28 Feb, 2013. More than 80 students participated in

the competition. The winners of Quiz competition

As a part of Institute's social responsibility on th14 Feb, 2013 IT Faculty members and students

visited Auxillium Community College, Shri Samarth

Vidya Mandir Prashala, Sawali Organization and

Students conducted lectures and practical on

fundamentals of Computers, shortcut keys of

Windows, Power Point, Excel and use of Internet.

Students showed them mythological stories on their

laptops. They also demonstrated how to use laptops

(how to start a laptop , how to shut down it etc),

different parts of computer. Children shared their

ambitions with them. Pens were distributed to all the

children.

Prof. Lagad of Ahmednagar College, Ahmednagar th thduring 24 June to 4 July 2013 at IMS campus.

Mr. Mahesh Dixit & Mr. Dipak Tungar attended

District level Administrative Staff seminar on

'Optimization of Col lege Administrative

Mechanism'. The seminar was organized by thAhmednagar College, Ahmednagar on 11 March

2013. Mr. Pramod Bhadakwade, Dy. Registrar,

University of Pune, Pune, guided the participants

during the seminar.

The Administration Department organized a

training programme on 'Microsoft Excel' for non- thteaching staff of the Institute from 25 Feb to

st1 March 2013. Mrs. Palak Bora, Subject expert

from Ahmednagar was invited to conduct the

training.

Learning Resource Centre on 12 Feb, 2013. It was

Essay Competition and Best User Award for the

Readers. The winners of the Best Practices were

awarded with a Certificate, Memento and Cash

weekly columnist Dr. Mrs. Sarala Barnabas was

invited under the auspices of the Information

Literacy Program (User education) ‘Author Speaks’.

The programme motivated the readers and educators

in order to foster good reading habits too.

Gallery Exhibition was also organized in which

students show their hidden talent and creativity in

the form of Painting, Sketches, Mehendi, Rangoli,

Handicrafts, etc. Various prizes were given to the

students for every event. These help students to

develop their overall personality.

An Alumni Entrepreneur's meet was jointly

ndorganized on 22 Feb, 2013 by Alumni Association &

Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the Institute.

20 alumni entrepreneurs participated in the meet

and gave valuable suggestions for strengthening of

alumni association activities and Entrepreneurship

A Speech by Mr. D. S. Kulkarni - Managing Director,

DSK Developers Ltd., Pune was organized by IMS -

Entrepreneurship Development Centre. The speech

thwas organized on 18 July 2013, for commerce and

management students of all colleges and institutes in

Ahmednagar city. For this programme apart from

students many other dignitaries from Ahmednagar

like industrialists, principals, directors and

professors of various colleges and institutions were

present. Programme got huge success; around 2000 -

2500 public took the benefit of his lecture. Mr. D. S. K.

shared his journey of entrepreneurship with the

public. He motivated students by telling his story of

‘60 Rs. capital to 6000 Crs. turnover.

IMS Theatre Group Activities

Cultural Programme during International

Conference

In the International Conference at IMS an

enthralling cultural programme was presented by

the IMS Theatre Group. A dance, which was based on

a perfect blend of 11 Maharashtrian folk songs,

gracefully demonstrated the vibrant and flamboyant

colors of Maharashtrian culture.

Another remarkable performance 'A Tribute to

Indian Cinema Legends' was presented. The

enactment revolved around 11 stalwarts of Hindi

Film Industry, who are regarded as trendsetters

and who are unfortunately no more. It comprised

anchors narrating some interesting aspects of

the lives of these legends, which was followed

by their short film and then the students

performed on the feet tapping, all time hit songs

of them.

IMS Theatre Group was invited to Pune to

perform by AMDISA at Yashada, on the event of

International Conference organised by AMDISA.

The programme was highly appreciated by Indian

as well as foreign delegates.

Cultural Programme for helping drought hit

people

thOn 17 March 2013, IMS Theatre Group

organised a cultural function at the Sahkar

Sabhagruh. The main objective of the show was to

raise funds for drought relief. The esteemed chief

guest of the show was the District Collector of

Ahmednagar- Dr. Sanjeev Kumar. Most of the

regions have been gripped in the clutches of

drought and its one of the most grievous issues of

the contemporary times. Therefore, the IMS gave

a thought to contributing their bit towards the

noble cause of helping the drought affected people.

The contribution collected through selling out of

tickets was used in providing aid to the drought

affected people.

ndOn 2 April 2013 the Institute distributed 10

water tanks of 2000 liters capacity each to drought

affected villages. Tanks are handed over to

Mr. R. B. Thote, Tehsildar, Ahmednagar and

Mr. Dnyaneshwar Nimse, B.D.O. These tanks

were then handed over to Gramsevaks of

10 villages of Ahmednagar Tehsil. Tanks are

donated as per the guidance of Hon. District

Collector Dr. Sanjeev Kumar. These tanks are

given to villages Dahigaon, Nepti, Kapurwadi,

Shahapur, Shendi, Ukkadgaon, Sarolabaddi,

Narayandoho, Jeur and Ruichhattisi.

person. The workshop was organized to promote

research culture amongst faculty members enlighten

Methodology'. 40 faculty members from various

management participated in the workshop. IMS

research publications namely – 'Indian Journal of

Current trends in Management Sciences (ISSN 0976

– 1845)' Volume VI No. I and 'Prayas: A Students'

were published in the workshop. IMS family also

projects and audited utilization certificates to

Conference - Innovation - 2013' organized by

Management. This conference was held at

IMS PG Research Centre has successfully

conducted Ph.D. Course Work Part I for 30 hoursth thfrom 9 July to 13 July 2013. Dr. S. B. Kolte,

Director General, IMS inaugurated the

coursework. Dr. M.B. Mehta, Director, IMS and

Dr. Meera Kulkarni, Head of the Management

Department, IMS also guided the research

students during the inaugural session. The

resource persons for the course work were Dr. A. R.

Mancharkar, Dr. Roshan Kazi, Prof. M. S. Kasture

from various research centres in Ahmednagar,

Nasik & Pune districts successfully completed the

Ph.D. Course Work Part I.

IMS PG Research Centre has conducted Ph.D.

Course Work Part II. 08 Research students

pursuing their Ph.D. programme from the centre

under Faculty of Management, University of Pune

have successfully completed Ph.D. Course Work

Part II for 10 credits. The research students have

given PPT presentation on Literature Review &

Secondary Data Analysis (05 credits) in front ofth

the Committee Members on Saturday, 6 July

2013. The research students have also submitted

their presented / published research papers (05

credits) to IMS PG Research Centre.
