Newsle erDear Parents and Guardians,Good afternoon! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing long weekend. I was spoilt by my children with an all expenses paid getaway to the beach!! It was lovely to connect and spend time with my kids for a couple of days. While away, last week, a high school student wrote an appreciation letter to me, which reminded me again of the powerful impact ‘affi rmation’ has on the soul. I was left wondering if the student was aware of the motivating effect the note had on me? Positive affi rmations help motivate people. Being around positive people will
transform you and your energy. Many times we are depressed or negative because we fi ght our own thought process. However being around people with positive energy can change your thought process quickly. Positivity changes the way people think, eliminating old habits and building new, more mutually benefi cial ones. The challenge for us all is to keep positive people in our life and try to spend as much time with them because it will transform our overall energy quickly. As well as being that positive person for our children and others.Sandra FerryPrincipal

A Message From Our Student Welfare Offi cer
Last week I shared with you the fi rst point out of fi ve that psychologists at Harvard University have found that parents who raise ‘good kids’ prac ce, this week we will look at number 2.
2. Let your children see a strong moral role model and mentor in you.Children learn the most from their surroundings especially at a younger age. What you do is what they will become. You are the greatest infl uence your child has and this is why you should always pay close a en on to your manners, ac ons, the way you speak to others and the ability to admit your faults. Prac ce fairness and honesty and whilst doing this you will be teaching your children to do the same. The key to all this is to talk these things through with your child.
It is important to acknowledge your mistakes and faults and this will show your child that it is ok not to be perfect all the me and that it is ok to mess up.
Make me for yourself and re-energise yourself during that me. You will need that energy to be more caring and a en ve to others. Venise Lang.
