the London Philharmonicat Royal Festival Hall . Thenext day we packed up andboarded our bus to go toHeathrow. Her Majesty,Queen Elizabeth II waskind enough to pass infron t of our buses as sheheaded to Windsor for theweekend. The orchestramos t apprecia ted Her Majesty's effort to bid us farewell.
We arrived many hourslater at Mirabel where wewearily bused back to Lisgar and were warmly welcomed by our families withgreat ent husiasm, despitethe late hour.
On behalf of the orchestra, we would like to thankthe staff that accompaniedus, Mr. & Mrs. OJ. Macdonald, Mr. & Mrs. 13.Laughton, Mr. & Mrs. O.Arrand, Mr. & Mrs. W.Fraser, and most of all ourthank s to ourfabul ous and inspirationalconductor, Mrs . T. Bradley .The orchestra is eagerly

second half of our visit wascomposed of a tour aroundEngland by highway coach,stopping at various citiesand sights along the way.We visited York and someof us atte nd ed a traditionalHigh Anglican Service atYorkminster Abbey. Afterspending the night in Yorkwe went off to Chesterwhere we viewed some Roman ru ins and viewed thecity from the high wallsthat surround it. The nextday we were off to Bath tosee the incredibly preserved Roman ba ths. Wethen cont inued on to Salisbury to spend the night.The followin g day broughttours of Stonehenge, Windsor and we arrived at ourfinal destination, London.From our hotel in downtown London, we spent ourday-off doing last minutesightseeing. We stopped atHarrod's, Picaddily Circus,St. James ' Park, TrafalgarSquare and found our wayaround on the underground . That evening Canada House, the CanadianHigh Commission in Britain, hosted a recept ion forthe orchestra and we la terattended a performance of

Fift?,-one members of Lisgar s senior orchestra travelled overseas March 8th to23rd, 1990 to perform andtour in England. This exchange was arranged withRickmansworth Comprehensive School located justnorth west of London. Thefirst week of our trip wasspent bille ted with Britishfamilies in the Rickmansworth area . Dur ing tha ttime we performed Iourconcerts for area schoolsand represent ed Lisgarwel l. Our spare time wasfilled with tours of sigh ts inthe area. We visited, byhighway coach, such sightsasWestminster Abbey andSt. Paul's Cathedral. Wewent shopping on London'sOxford Street, toured Stratford -Upon-Avon, saw aperform ance of AndrewLloyd Weber's "StarlightExpress", watched the play"Another Time", toured theLond on Docklands Rede velopment project and vis-ited Greenwich. .

O ur rugby team s had considerablesuccess last fall. The Senior team
fin ished first in the sched u le, defea tingevery team except St . Pa ts . Howeverour team was beaten in the semi-finalsby Tech after s ix ty thrilling m inutes offoot ba ll.
The ski team th is w in ter proved to beone of the best eve r seen at Lisga r.They caf tured the co ve ted Aul t Trophynnc p laced well in the cr ossco un try race. Ma ny of our ski er s haveproved themselves to be in cla ss A,an d have rep resen ted ski clubs o f theci ty in many meets.
