Horsetail Equisetum arvense

DescriptionA close relative of the fern, horsetail is a nonflowering weed found throughout parts of Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America. The plant is a perennial (returns each year) with hollow stems andshoots that look like asparagus at first. As the plant dries, silica crystals that form in the stems and branches look like feathery tails and give the plant a scratching effect. That accounts for its historic use in polishing metal and scrubbing pots. They favour damp, sandy or gravelly, shady places. Horsetails areusually considered weeds when they encroach on cultivated gardens and landscapes. Which makes it easy to harvest, since it grows wild and plentiful.

PreparationsA tea from horsetail can be made by steeping in hot water or a concoction by simmering gently in waterfor about 15 mins. The concoction is preferred for its healing properties since the silica in horsetail is water soluble so these are ideal preparations to be taken internally or used externally by adding to the bath and using as a compress. Vinegar – This can be made by steeping Horsetail herb in apple cider vinegar for a monthto six weeks, straining, then enjoying added to salads, diluted in water for compresses or added to the bath- about 1/2 a cup.

HarvestingPick it in a clean area. Best time to harvest is midsummer when plants are large but still somewhat succulent. The above ground parts of horsetail (fresh or dried) are used for medicinal purposes.

Heatlh BenefitsHorsetail is used medicinally to treat bladder infections. People who experience occasional incontinenceand bed-wetting can use it. The herb relieves a persistent urge to urinate. Because of its content of silica, this plant is recommended to repair bone tissues. Silica helps to fix calcium, so that the body can store more quantity of this mineral and it is able to form stronger bones, tendons, nails and fingernails. Which makes Horsetail advisable to treat osteoporosis as well. Because of its mineral content horsetail isrecommended for anaemia. It has also been used to treat lung damage such as tuberculosis or emphysema. Horsetail infusion is a safe, gentle anti-inflammatory for chronic low-grade to moderate asthma.

I highly suggest that you further your research and read more about horsetails warnings and side effects.

How to make your own vehicule signage

you want to personalize your car, trailer, truck ? But you know it's so expensiveto make it happens with ''professional''. Wmovers realize that, and we thought

to make it by ourself!! in the same time it's a perfect way to feel artistic andenjoy your creativity :) ! let's spraypaint the wmovers trailer !!!

materiel you must need : -Spraypaint ( you c'ant believe that I know...) -Cardboard ( Simple as the cheaper at dollorama) - X-acto - Tape - Meters - Newspapers

Now, you know exactly what you want and you knowwhere you go with your pen, eareser and meter. Drawthe design on the coardboard with the good dimension.

The thing is , you need to cut after that, make you designto be able to cut it.

CUT IT.. We are there, ok, now it's timeto be perfectionist. Cut the ligns as you design the most precise as you can. Good luck

First of all, make a plan to know what you will create. To help myself, I drew the design with a tablet graphic on a picture of the trailer. After you know wich design to do, you need to know the trailer measurments and take somes measures to calculate how muchbig you will draw on the cardboard.

Shake the spraypaint! One thing I buy for doing this part more easier for me, is a cans of glue that I can puton the cardboard to stick on the trailer. Fix the stencil on the trailer and cover the surface that won't be usedwith newspapers. Still shake the cans, now spray the stencil. Don't put so much paint at the time, make some

arts, reflects, reliefs and have fun with the cans. Allow time to dry the paint before pull out the cardboard. Takeout the cardboard and look the result of your beautiful arts!

The first side done :) The next project for Wmovers vehicules signage

If you have any suggestion or commentaires, or maybe want to learn, give us a shot and we will see to make a workshop together @ womenmoveher@ gmail.com .

From http://www.sinixtnation.org/content/sinixt-nation-needs-your-support

Sinixt Nation is being threatened with "Trespassing on Crown Land" by the Ministry of Forest, Lands and Natural Resource Operations for establishing a Sinixt cultural encampment within Sinixt territory on slhu7kin/Perry Ridge. The recent treatment by the Ministry and the RCMP towards our concerns and matters is a continuation of the same inhumane processes that led to the extinction status of the Sinixt/Arrow Lakes Indian Band by Canada in 1956.

We are calling on everyone to come to Slhu7kin/Perry Ridge to assist Sinixt Nation with our cultural encampment on the ridge and to protect Sinixt human rights and defend our right to self-determination. Please join us to protect our cultural ways, the water, and all that is sacred.

Please Bring what you can. The camp is 5km up the Perry Ridge Forest Service Road near Slocan BC.

Contact us for directions or for more information.
