BROAD BRIMMED SUNHATS Broad brimmed sunhats are compulsory in line with

our School Policy for Terms 1 and 4. Please make sure your child has one everyday.

Hats are not to be shared.

Dear Parents and Caregivers What fantastic weather we had over the weekend, I hope you and your family were able to enjoy it. This time of year seems to get really busy doing all those jobs at home we have been putting off because of the cold weather – or maybe that is just me. The summer terms bring with them the need for students to be extremely conscious of being sun smart. It is important your child has: Clothing which covers their shoulders (this is strong advice the sun can be vicious) and shorts. We are finding lots of students are over dressed for our current weather conditions. A wide brimmed hat which is compulsory in terms 1 & 4 Sunblock applied before the start of the day. A drink bottle with water. The school does have sunblock available in all rooms so this can be reapplied as required and we have a number of drinking fountains about the school and some in rooms for those which have been remodelled. Please understand that to provide the best protection we can for your children those without hats will be directed to play under the oak trees at the front of the school where there is good shade. On Fridays many of our students stay after school to play volleyball in the Action Centre. It is important they have travel arrangements organised for the end of their game so they are not here worrying about how they will get home. Additionally, I have reminded those students who travel home by bus (particularly those on first bus not playing volleyball) that they do not have time to stop and buy things from the canteen which is operating for those playing. Students have been made aware that should they choose to do this then unfortunately the bus will need to go without them as we have a timetable which includes other schools to meet and we cannot be delayed. Congratulations to those students who attended AG Group day last week. I was highly impressed by your maturity and dedication to your animals. This showed in the wonderful results we achieved. Busy few weeks, athletics, Grandparents Day, camps so I look forward to seeing you at some of these if you are able to make it. Yours in teaching Craig Haggo, Principal

Crazy Hair Day! Our Seniors have dedicated 15th November 2019 to Crazy Hair Day There will be a gold coin donation to raise money for the Red Cross

The crasier the hair the better as there will be prizes for the best hair! Students are asked to provide their gold coin donation to their class teacher. The senior team will collect the money raised on the day.

Pool Keys Pool keys are still available to purchase for the summer season at

$100.00 per key. Available from the school office.

The 2019 / 2020 pool season opened Labour weekend; but we still need ALL of previous years keys returned for re cutting or

there will be a shortage of keys this season. Please return them to the office asap.

We still require people to assist with closing the pool (no cover involved) and maybe the occasional opening during the season. If we can share the role across a few people to make it easier for

all of those involved. If anyone sees any inappropriate behaviour please contact the

school on 07 5333731.

Important Jiddles and Middles Camp Fees This Thursday night and Friday is Jiddles camp but we still have a number of students who have not paid. Students who have not paid for camp by this Wednesday will not be able to participate. To avoid any embarrassment please ensure that this is finalised prior or talk to Corrina Dibley. Middles camp is only three weeks away from 27th to 29th November 2019 however there are still students whose camp fees remain outstanding. Please ensure that these fees are paid in full by the end of this week as camp numbers and bookings need to be finalised now.

Lost Property Let’s Reunite the Children with their clothing!

If you look in your children’s drawers and find there is less than there was before, come and check here at school, our lost property is more than full. We’ve sweatshirts, trousers and towels galore, we’ve shoes overflowing on the floor. It ALL belongs to SOMEONE. It came to school on a back or feet. To get it to do the return trip would be really neat. If you are at school for any reason , please check out the lost property in the back of the library or the basket At the back office. Don’t forget to name your child’s clothing to enable the return of clothing and footwear to them as soon as it is found.

Tech Talk - Cyber Safety Parent Evening As we all know our children have greater access and are on technological devices more and more. As parents we worry about how to keep our children safe in online communities. Tomorrow, Tuesday 5 November at 6pm we are going to hold a Parents Cyber Safety Evening in our Senior block. Lex Mawson from the Parenting Place will be offering his expert advice and will open any questions our community has in regards to this very relevant topic.
