In addition, the boys continued their worldwide tour by stopping back in America and making delicious edible American flags. After that, they made their own paper mache globes and they also enjoyed the foosball, air hock- ey, ping pong and pool tables of the game room. On Thursday, the boys went on a spectacular bowling trip where they watched in awe as the Bunk Hay counselor, Rafi Hersher, scored strike after strike on his way to an im- pressive 172. The boys campers managed some notable scores themselves while not using bumpers at all! The Water Park continued to be a huge hit with the boys as they enjoyed climbing, diving and sliding up and down the massive water slide, wet combo unit and dry bounce house combo unit. GIRLS DIVISION The Girls Division emphasized Avodah this week and learned the birchos hashachar as well as details and hallachos for the upcoming fast day. For their worldwide theme, they celebrated several American past times with Wednesday’s baseball day (they played and made cute hats) and by mak- ing edible American flags with blueberry stars. They also “stopped off” in Disney by making adorable princess castles out of paper rolls, cups and lots of shiny tinfoil! In Art Class by Leah Klagge, the campers painted a Hawai- ian seascape in canvas panels. They learned about mixing color gradations to create the illusion of a sunset sky and how to draw a palm tree. During Meira Wunsch’s Gymnastics class, the girls learned balancing skills on the beam such as kicks, backward kicks, passes and tucks. Some girls challenged themselves to do cartwheels, backbends and kickovers on the beam! Dra- ma by Chani Richmond emphasized hand movements, body movements and expression. The campers put on mime skits that were spectacular and entertaining! In Dance by Estee Grossman, the girls learned a dance to the popular song Yesh Tikvah. The fun continued on Thursday with a Bowling trip that featured some impressive bumper-less performances by the girls! The week wraps up on Friday with a performance by bunk Vav, an exciting parade featuring banners the girls made themselves and a blind auction for bunk prizes! JUNIORS DIVISION The Junior Division splashed their way to an amazing week of water fun! The highlight of the week was the Fantastic Fire Truck Company’s visit on Thurs- day where the kids sprayed hydrants, sat on a fire truck and got to wear fire- man helmets and jackets! Earlier in the week, the campers made Statue of Liberty projects, designed American flags and created their own sticker vi- sors! Mrs. Goodman, the Juniors Director, helped the campers have a shape hunt where they went on a scavenger hunt for different shapes and then made collage pictures from those shapes! In Creative Movement and Drama with Chani Richmond, the campers learned about the colors and shapes of the American flag. The Boys Division enjoyed a competitive leagues week that highlighted sportsmanshop and middos while also show-casing the campers tremendous athletic talent and teamwork! In the Senior League comprised of Bunk Daled, Hay and Vav campers, the Shteiger Tigers looked unbeatable in jumping out to an undefeated 3-0 regular season record while outscoring opponents by a combined 76-37 score. Their star player, Mendy Gelman, was the league MVP for his dominant offensive performance in the regular season combined with impeccable sportsmanship. However, in the single elimina-tion playoffs they were upset by the previously 0-3, 4th seeded Torah Tornadoes. The Tornadoes face the Learner Burners (who had a miraculous 20-point comeback in their playoff game) on Friday in the Championship game while the Shteiger Tigers and JumPshats settle for an appearance in the runner-up game. In the Junior Division (formed from Bunks Beis and Gimmel), the undefeated Marlins faced the winless Dolphins and the Marlins held on for another win. The Marlins advance to square off against the Heat in the Junior Division Championship game as the Heat held on and shut out the Panthers 7-0 in their football playoff matchup. Both championship games will feature referees, announcers, coaches and an exciting halftime competition!

This week the Juniors trip was to the United States of America,Where they made a Statue of Liberty replica

They had so much fun creating the American flag of red, white and blue,And a flag snack of graham crackers, frosting and blueberries too.

Then off to the fire truck water play we did go,All about fire safety and putting out fires we now know.

Passing the water buckets, making sure not to spill or get dizzy,The engaging water activities sure kept them busy!

Ready, set, go! They hunted hidden shapes in the grass,And what amazing shape collages were created by each class.

So lets fasten our seat belts and get ready to run,For next weeks travel itinerary is filled with excitement and fun!

In , we learn the amazing story of the talking donkey. was riding on his donkey, on the way to

curse , when his donkey suddenly spoke to him. Now, I dont know about you, but if my donkey started

talking, I would think twice before responding. I would probably rub my eyes, splash some cold water on my face,

and then go to see a good doctor to be sure that I was not sick. But didnt do any of those things. Instead, he

had a conversation with the donkey! This is truly amazing! In fact, Im not sure which miracle is a greater one -- the fact that a donkey spoke, or the fact that

responded! Why did he talk back to his donkey? Why wasnt he surprised? Why didnt he notice that something

remarkable was happening? also asks this question. His answer is, that because of the cruelty and bad nature that had and

that he really, really, really wanted to go, he was not affected by this amazing thing. ('' says that was so filled

with hatred for he got up early and saddled his donkey by himself.) wasnt going to allow anything to get in

his way of cursing them. He was so focused on his target that nothing could distract him. Even a talking animal

could not prevent him from continuing on his path. From this, we can learn 2 tremendous lessons!

Firstly, we see how focused a person can be on whatever they are doing. When we are involved in doing a

, we should try to be so focused that nothing will distract or prevent us from accomplishing our goal. This is

especially important when we are davening or learning . Secondly, we learn from how hatred and other bad can blind us. When we dislike somebody or

something, we might be planning to do something against them that isnt right. Someone might try to stop us. Our

hatred can lead us to ignore them and to continue with our plans. We must learn to control our feelings so that we

will be sure to think about our behavior before we act. Lets learn from and his donkey how we can truly focus on the good things, and be sure to control

ourselves from doing bad things. Then, we will be worthy of receiving the wonderful he ended up giving
