rOUNDTAbLE CONfErENCE’S

Hr rOUNDTAbLEA key challenge that is common for all businesses is the demand for skilled, knowledgeable talent with the right attitude. While institutions continue to churn out business graduates, industry is finding it increasingly hard to select them as they find them largely devoid of the skills and employability attributes that they look for. We at Vedatya feel the only solution lies in the industry and academia working together as partners. The HR roundtable is a small step in that direction. The Business School at Vedatya recognizes the importance of providing access for our students to the broader business community in an increasingly competitive international market and organized an HR Roundtable conference with the theme ‘reshaping the industry Academia relationship for Future Talent Development’ on April 10, 2015. The objective of the HR roundtable was to open conversation with the key talent managers and seek their views on the critical issues impacting talent management and development. The world is changing very fast, and the macro-economic environment is quite challenging. While each strategic business unit aspires to build a sustainable competitive advantage, collaboration and co-operation have become equally relevant tools to achieve organizational objectives. There are lessons to be drawn from others experiences and opportunity to see the best practices, which could be enhanced further and implemented for the common good of the sector. The conference brought together Key Decision Makers and Senior leaders from various Organizations. The speakers deliberated on the emerging challenges on the Talent development front in different sectors, in the backdrop of globalization and advancement of technology. This will allow business schools to identify and work on aspects that will improve the employability coefficient of the business graduates. Vedatya thanks all the industry participants for their significant discussions and contributions during the roundtable.F&B leaders Round Table was organized to discuss the importance of F&B as a revenue segment.
