same time as Study Class and on wednesday between 7.45 PM to 9.30 PM. The current
subject is "18 Papsthanaks" explained by Peenalbhai Shah for Sunday and "Sutra
Samvedna" explained by Sureshbhai Shah for wednesday Swadhyay. We encourage
all Study Class student parents to take the benefit of Swadhyay.

Members are requested to note the following updates on Pryushan 2016 events –
Paryushan Parva is going to be from Monday August 29, 2016 to Monday September 5, 2016 with parna on Tuesday - September 6, 2016. During Paryushan there is evening bhavana to be performed by group of members from our society.
Shri Samirbhai Mehta will be the visiting Scholar for the Sangh duting Paryushan Parva. Members are requested to note the topics to be covered

During Paryushan we will have food in the evening only for individuals doing Pratikraman so they can do chovyar before the Pratikraman. We request all the members to take the benefit of the same during Paryushan Parva. Also, all members doing Ekashna are requested to bring their own Dhali and Vadko during Paryushan
Youth Lecture in English – September 2, 2016 – On Friday, September 2, JOY and our older Jain Study Class students will hold story time for the youngsters! Join us as we take you back in time through the tales that have influenced us most. From Chandanbala to Champat Shravika or Rohinya Chor, we'll be passing on the lessons and Jain values these stories have taught us.
Paryushan Children Prabhavana – Children Prabhavna will be on Friday September 2, 2016 after Bhavna, aarti and Mangal Divo. There will also be youth Lecture between 7.30 PM to 8.45 PM. Parents are encouraged to bring the kids for Lecture and Prabhavna. If any of the members are interested in participating in Children’s Paryushan Prabhavana with Study class – sign up sheet and instructions are posted on temple bulletin board – Please sign up. There is a recommendation sheet for items for individual Prabhavana also.
RSVP link is open for Swapna Darhsan Day - Paryushan Day 6 – Saturday September 3, 2016. Members are requested to RSVP . This is very important as RSVP count will help the volunteers to make proper arrangements and help us to serve you better.
Gheeboli Chart and Ekashana Chart has been posted on Bulleting Board at the Temple. Members are requested to take the benefit of the same.
Tapasvis & Sakal Sangh Parna Invitation – The Parna day is on Tuesday September 6th 9:00 am in the morning, day after SAMVATSARI Pratikraman. This year Parna is sponsored by group of members and the team members are Jaimik & Reenal Shah, Rahul & Niyati Shah, Vinit & Anuja Shah, Dipen & Kavita Shah, Chirag & Darshita Jhaveri, Tushar & Birva Shah, Kekin & Ami Sheth, Kamal & Sunitha Jain, Shashin & Chandni Shah. The Parna team is working very hard to prepare a nice menu to meet your taste. The team is requesting Sakal Sangh to join Parna celebration with Tapsavis. All Tapsavis are urged not to perform Parna ceremony at home, instead come to the temple in the morning with family. Save the Date - Annual Forgiveness day – September 18, 2016 Members are requested to note that Jain Society of Greater Detroit is celebrating this year’s Annual Forgiveness day with a full day celebration with following events –
Morning Session to be attended by Jain Samaniji Bhavit Pragyaji and Samaniji Kanchan Pragyaji to enlighten all of us with Lecture on “Forgiveness : The Key to Freedom”. Lecture will be followed by Swamivatsalya and Members are requested to RSVP and take the benefit of the same.

JOY Board Election - 2016
JOY elections are all set to take place on Saturday, September 3, 2016 (Swapna Darshan Day during Paryushan) between 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. All JOY members are requested to be at the temple to cast their vote. Results will be announced the same day after the election process is finished. For the 2016-2017 year there are total of 7 positions opened.
Please read JOY-Bylaws, Duties & Conditions before filling out the application. Applications are due no later than Wednesday August 31, 2016. Members are requested to scan the completed Application along with your statement of purpose to Joy advisors Mamta Maheshwari - [email protected] or Rahul Munot - [email protected]. . • Only JOY members can vote on this day. Each voter must be present on that day to mark his or her vote. • If you are unable to be present on Election Day, please send in your absentee votes by email no later than September 2nd, 2016.
