HARVEST ASSEMBLY

Today we were joined by Reverend Fitter from Christ Church, Anerley and

Pooja from Food Plus Bromley for our Harvest Assembly. Mr Fitter gave

thanks for the generosity of the families of James Dixons students and

Pooja spoke about the people who would be benefiting from your kind

donations. In addition to the speeches, the children sang songs about the

harvest season before presenting specially decorated boxes of food to

Pooja to take back to Food Plus Bromley. Once again, we would like to

say a big ‘thank you’ to our school community for your kindness and com-

passion.

PROUD CLASS FAMILY ASSEMBLY On Thursday, Proud Class shared their learning with the school and their parents. During this term they have

been learning about life during the Stone Age. We saw a selection of artwork produced using only natural

resources and watched a video which showed off all the creative ways in which they have engaged with the

topic.

In the interest of your children’s safety, visitors will not be allowed onto the site unless attending a

pre-booked meeting

Y2 @ THE MARITIME MUSEUM On Thursday, Year 2 took a trip to the Maritime Museum to

discover more for their topic: Pirates!

Travelling to Greenwich via trains and buses, Respectful and

Honest Classes took in the sight of the illustrious Cutty Sark be-

fore touring the Museum itself. They walked a giant map of the

world and learned about life at sea in the days of piracy.

Y4 @ HAMPTON COURT PALACE Year 4 travelled to Hampton Court Palace on Friday to learn more about

King Henry VIII and Tudor way of life. The children took part in a work-

shop that challenged the stereotyped image and opinions of the Tudor

king. Afterwards, the children were able to tour the palace and visit the

apartments where the king and his courtiers once resided. During the visit

a member of the Palace staff comment on how well behaved the children

were, well done Year 4!

Share-A-Story

We wold like to say ‘thank you’ to all the parents who have agreed to

come in on Wednesday afternoon to read to the children. In addition,

we would also like to thank Judy Skidmore and Sheju Adiyatiparambil-

John, parents of a Reception child, for allowing us to use their book and

donating several copies to the school.
