MOLONG CENTRAL PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNIVERSITY ADMISSION Several Universities offer students a position in a variety of courses based on reports, references and interviews. Molong Central students have been successful at attaining places in these courses and it is an exciting time for both the students and the school. Listed below are students who have already received a place at Charles Sturt University. There are also other students who have been accepted however their place is conditional with them having to attain a specified ATAR (Australian Tertiary Admission Rank). Hopefully we will be able to celebrate their success and other students successful in gaining places when the Higher School Certificate results are released. Congratulations to the following students: Blake Brouff - Business Studies & Computer Science Bathurst, Lauren Fessey - Agricultural Business Management & Agricultural Science Wagga Wagga, Chrystal Norberry - Communication (Public Relations) Port Macquarie, Shaun Paterson - Exercise & Sport Science and Sport Studies & Communication (Journalism) Bathurst and Chelsea Wilson - Criminal Justice Port Macquarie. Wollongong University have also offered places to several of our students, but I am awaiting official notification from the University before these details are released.
BIG DAY IN There are moments in the school year that as a Principal you will never forget. I have highlighted the personal qualities of our wonderful students and supportive staff throughout the year but nothing prepared me for the success of the “Big Day In” which was organised by the SRC with the support of Mrs Virginia Dale and Miss Sally Pokoney. I could sense the anticipation of the students who were looking forward to the event at the start of the week and when the day arrived there were many things that I will remember. Firstly I could see the amount of work and effort that many of the SRC students had done prior to the day and these people continued to impress as the day went on. The next thing that I noticed was the amount of fun the students and staff were enjoying together which was especially noticeable during the fashion parade. I must also comment on the special relationship the students and staff share. There are so many students that stepped up on the day and displayed leadership qualities. Please see photos below and more on Page 2.

MOLONG ROTARY PROJECTS AND
STUDENT IDEAS Molong Rotary is currently building gym equipment down at the Recreation Ground for the community. They want projects for 2016 that benefit the youth of Molong. Could students please advise Victoria Miller (SRC) or Mrs Clark of any ideas/projects that Rotary could build that would improve Molong for our youth, all ideas welcome. Many thanks Mrs Anne Clark
BIG DAY IN
Last Friday saw the running of our “BIG DAY IN”. This day is organised by the SRC as a fun day to build a cohesive Secondary school. This year saw an introduction of some new events with the balloon toss proving very successful. The event started with a fashion parade featuring a whole range of designer clothing put together by the students. The staff were involved also with Mr Evans, Mr Culverson, Ms Vis and Mr Paterson strutting their stuff on the catwalk. The judges ended up selecting Jackson Gersbach as the worthy recipient of best model on the day. All in all the day was a fantastic event demonstrating to all involved what a lovely school community we have where students can organise, and then enjoy themselves in a broad range of activities. Congratulations to the SRC on a well organised day and to Mrs Dale and Miss Pokoney for their efforts working with the SRC behind the scenes.
