JOY OF LIGHTS
India is a great country known as the land of festivals one of the famous and most celebrated
festival is Diwali. It is celebrated to commemorate the returning of Lord Rama to the kingdom
after the 14 years of exile. People of Ayodhya have known their joy and happiness by lighting the
laps in the whole kingdom. It is the festival of sharing gifts, sweets, greetings and best wishes for
Diwali. Children of Grade I & II were asked to bring empty bottles or cool drinks cans to make a
decorative rocket that is best out of waste. Students were divided into groups and were
provided with required resources for making a colourful rocket which were directed or assisted
by the teacher in their respective classes and at the same time Diwali greeting card was prepared
by them all , which have been taken to their respective homes. Our children learnt the
importance of togetherness as it lead to joy and fun the rockets which were prepared colourful
and the greeting card with memorable wordings meant a lot to them. Teachers also explained
about Green Diwali.

The Art of Story Narration
Everyone loves to listen to stories. There is hardly anyone among as who has not heard a
story during our childhood?
Stories keep children engage and let them feel that they are also participating in the
process of storytelling; it could be a joyous learning experience. Stories help children
develop critical thinking and making a judgement about things so on. Students of Grade I
& II were asked to prepare for story narration on the theme , friendship and magical
words with props. Good percentage of children actively participated and were eagerly
waiting for their turn to come. Stories develop in children an understanding about other
culture. All the students enjoyed thoroughly the activity.
Story telling is a strategy for learning more so language learning serves as a major
language input for learners and enables them through experience learn, acquire the
language naturally.
Light up the Festival with Joy and Prosperity
“ Diwali is a time to come together and turn your foes
into friends.”
Diwali is one of the most popular festivals celebrated by Hindus all over the world. The festival symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.
We at Johnson Grammar celebrated this festival by presenting a Nukkad Natak in Hindi assembly. The students delivered a message to celebrate safe and green Diwali and to stop pollution by saying no to crackers. They also presented a mesmerizing dance performance. The assembly concluded with few instructions by our esteemed Principal Ms. Bhavani and all the spectators to have a safe and happy Diwali.
SAVE THE GIRL CHILD
„Smiling face of every little girl is the significance of God‟s
presence.
Save girl child is an awareness campaign to save the girl child in
India to ensure their safety as well as to stop the gender
inequality and crime against girl child. A poster making
competition was organised for the students of Grade 6 & 7 topic
„Save the girl child‟. The main intention behind conducting this –
competition was to create awareness among the students about
this social issue and to enhance their critical thinking. Our
students came out with their creative ideas and created beautiful
posters and also wrote wonderful slogans based upon the topic.
UN DAY - THE UNITED NATIONS
DAY

24th October is celebrated as the UN Day,
The day in which 54 countries came
together to create the United Nations with
a purpose to promote peace and
cooperation around the world. An
intrusive assembly was presented by our
students to commemorate the UN
formation day. They enriched the students
knowledge about the importance of UN
and the aim and principles of UN through
a conversation.
