March Issue

VOL. XXXVIII- - - No. 3

February 24, 2013

March is mission’s month and we are going to have the opportunity to learn about all the wonderful ways that God is moving in the lives of others around the world—which you help with every time you tithe! Yep, $.15 of every dollar given goes directly to missions! Let’s not forget that Jesus gave one last charge to his disciples and that was to go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them into the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and teach-ing them everything that is in God’s love letter to us. If no one had followed through with this, we wouldn’t know Jesus today and Novesta would certainly not exist. Praise God for those who realize that life is truly “Bigger Than Me!” Be sure to check out the coming displays and be listening each week to learn more about some of the missions our congre-gation supports.

The 1st Sunday we will be learning more about an orphanage in Mexico called Mexican Mountain Mission. March 10th we will have the privilege of having Matt and Shelby Honig and their family here with an update on their move and new work. Matt will be bringing us the morning message this Sunday also. March 17th we will highlight Farsight Christian Mission. The founder, Levern Halstead, has been able to accomplish much with God’s help and the help of many volunteers. Some from Novesta have been a part of this mission work. March 24th we will learn about Janelle’s work in S.E. Asia. This country is predominantly Muslim and her work as a missionary is dangerous. Our mission month will finish on March 31 with a presentation from CRAM (Christ Reaching Asia Mission). CY Kim has been instrumental in spreading the gospel and meeting needs in China and North Korea.

The Story … Continues This month we’re moving into the time of King David and we have some very exciting chapters to discover. As we move through the Story, we are reminded each week about fallen people, bad choices, and an ever-loving, all-powerful God in whom we can hope and trust.

March 3rd - The Faith of a Foreign Woman March 10th - Standing Tall & Falling Hard March 17th - From Shepherd to King March 24th - The Trials of a King March 31st - Easter Sunday (The Story of the Cross)

Palm Sunday Palm Sunday will be a special day here at No-vesta as the Adult Choir leads us in a time of worship together helping us to prepare our hearts and minds for the beautiful Easter story.

If you are interested in joining the choir, they would love to have you practice with them on Sunday nights @ 6PM.

Easter Sunday Just around the corner, we’ll be taking a one week break from the Story to focus on ‘THE STORY’ of the Bible, the beautiful story of redemption made possible through the blood of Jesus, His gift of life on the cross, and His amazing power to rise from the grave.
