The general assembly approved the exhibition calendar for 2014, including all the events that will be sponsored by Eumabois, the European federation of woodworking technology, tools and accessories manufacturers.

Exhibitions are one of the key topics on the federation’s agenda. The contribution of ExpoPromueble is noteworthy to the development of the industry : Gianni Ghizzoni, Past President of EUMABOIS was present at the opening and throughout the 4 days of the exhibition Once again, a well known and influential person in first world technology, Ghizzoni Gianni , former president of the EUMABOIS , attended ExpoPromueble & Technology. He considers this event of vital importance for the development and growth of the furniture industry in Mexico. During the opening ceremony, he acknowledged the growth that this show has had not only as an exhibit, but in the number and quality of exhibitors. He noted that over time the event has gone beyond borders and integrated an increasing number of new European firms wishing to enter the Mexican market and offer machinery and technology. As the person responsible for leading the European Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Woodwork Machinery, he congratulated the organizers for their work of 20 years, and said that he was convinced that the furniture industry in Mexico has much future. It is thanks to these exhibits, he noted, that manufacturers can access robotic technology to improve production quality and increase productivity, factors that ultimately can lead the industry to be more competitive internationally. ExpoPromueble: An event that exceeds its own expectations Exhibiting firms competed in quality, service and value against homologous firms. Over 30 thousand square meters of exhibits ExpoPromueble and Technology meets its goal as the exhibit that brings together the national furniture industry. This year, it celebrated 20 years of uninterrupted history. The event exceeded sales and the expectations of exhibitors even when participating firms were cautious about broadcasting their operations. The number of professional buyers who came to the event looking for a good sale, which would allow them to introduce new production technologies was evident. They were eager to do business. Since its inaugural day, ExpoPromueble and Technology welcomed manufacturers who traveled straight to Mexico City to contact suppliers directly to get their equipment, supplies, and textile needs met. EIGHT EDITION OF INDIAWOOD 2014 INDICATES STRONG MARKET SENTIMENT IN INDIA

21-25 FEBRUARY 2014 BANGALORE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTRE

INDIAWOOD 2014, which concluded on 25 February at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, saw participation by 580 exhibitors (49% of who were from foreign shores, the remaining Indian) in the eighth edition of South Asia's largest woodworking trade show. This indicates not only exhibitors' trust in INDIAWOOD, but also the resilience and versatility of the woodworking industry on the sub-continent. The final count of more than 33,000 footfalls at the five-day exhibition also sends a clear signal: the global economy may be down and out, but recovery and growth (at least in India) are just round the corner. The visitors – from Bhutan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal and Sri Lanka – comprised of manufacturers, traders, retailers, builders, architects, interior designers, contractors, government agencies, experts and woodworking enthusiasts – and they converged on Bangalore from all over India, and beyond. Their enthusiasm and curiosity was best appreciated by companies from the 25 countries (including India) that

exhibited their products AT India Wood: from logs and lumber, machinery and tools, to hardware and software, adhesives and coatings, design and innovation. The exhibitors came from Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, United Kingdom, USA and Vietnam. King 10 country pavilions were from Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Malaysia, Sri Lanka , Taiwan, Turkey and the US, who made use of the entire 38,000 square metres of space at the venue. Exhibitor reaction to India's premier bi-annual woodworking trade show was also encouraging – an overwhelming majority (66%) felt the show was 'good/ very good' and another 23% rated it as 'excellent'. In terms of commercial success, 13% of exhibitors felt it was excellent, while another huge majority (71%) rated it as good/ very good. Similarly, 72% exhibitors were happy with the visitor numbers and profiles, while another 15% were impressed beyond that!

• The 15th International Exhibition on Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Manufacturing Equipment and The International Exhibition on Woodworking Machinery Supplies and Accessories (WMF 2014) were successfully closed on 28 February 2014.

• Covering an exhibition area of 60,000sqm, the 4-day Exhibition attracted a total of 25,376 visitor attendances from 60 countries and regions, among which 5% were international buyers.

• The Exhibition featured 5 pavilions organized by VDMA – German Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers' Association, Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry and 3 prominent woodworking machinery associations of Qingdao, LunJiao (Guangdong) and Shanghai. 445 exhibitors from 12 countries and regions, including world’s machinery giants Homag and Weinig, showcased their latest woodworking machinery and technology at WMF 2014.

• The 4-day Exhibition yielded impressive result for the exhibitors who met many clients with procurement needs onsite. 94% of exhibitors rated the visitor quality and show promotion from satisfactory to excellent. About 90% of exhibitors agreed that WMF helped them enhance brand promotion and reach new customers. Around 95% of exhibitors agreed that participation at WMF 2014 helped strengthen existing client relationships.

XYLEXPO 2014 CLOSED WITH POSITIVE RESULTS: REGISTERED VISITORS INCREASED BY 7.1 PERCENT

Many fears that loomed over the eve of Xylexpo, the biennial international exhibition of woodworking technology and furniture industry supplies, held at the Fiera Milano-Rho expo center from Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17, May 2014, vanished into the air as soon as the gates opened. Since the first day, it was clear that the event had preserved its role of reference international exhibition in even-numbered years: the flow of international operators was sustained and further consolidated in the subsequent days; towards the end, especially on Friday 16 and Saturday 17, there was a “rally” of Italian visitors. Although the Italian market is still facing serious difficulty, the exhibition reaffirmed its international scope and its attractiveness for the industry. After all, we are talking about an exhibition that has reached its 24th edition and, despite the difficulties of recent years, has made all the necessary efforts to be a "key reference" for exhibitors and visitors. FIGURES Let’s come to figures. Regular registrations by professional visitors were 15,250, up by 7.1 percent compared to 2012. Attendance from Italy increased (plus 4.6 percent) and even more from abroad (plus 8.5 percent). Across the borders, excellent results were recorded by Continental Europe, with a 12.7 percent increase of professional visitors. Solid flows from Africa (plus 16 percent) and Americas (plus 1.8 percent). On the contrary, visitors from Asia decreased, though by a small 1.5 percent. In terms of total attendance - indicating the total amount of people entering the expo center each day - the five-day result was 44 thousand, with a 42 percent share of foreign operators. EXHIBITORS We remind you that Xylexpo 2014 hosted 440 exhibitors, in three halls, covering a net exhibition surface of 27 thousand square meters. There were 123 exhibitors from 27 countries, with Germany in the first place (51 companies), followed by China, Spain, Austria, Great Britain and the Czech Republic, and all the others.

STRONG UK ECONOMY BOOSTS W14 EXHIBITION

Economic recovery is very strong in the UK and growth is faster than most people expected. Prospects for machinery sales have been further increased by a huge tax incentive for furniture and joinery manufacture who invests in machinery. Until quite recently the Investment Allowance rules in the UK gave tax relief on just £25,000 per year for all capital expenditure. This has new been increased to £500,000 and the opportunity lasts only until 2015.

Timber processing complex of the Russian Federation supports machinery, mining industry, building, agriculture, and trade with its goods; and besides meets the population requirements of woodworks, and products of woodworking. Nearly a year and a half before its opening, 88 per cent of FITECMA 2015 area was already sold. And the interest of countries having historically been present at the show is added to that of domestic companies.

The fair’s 12th edition, which will be again staged at Centro Costa Salguero fair premises, is ensuring the contribution of all the innovations for the woodworking and furniture industry, for the quantity of exhibitors as well as for the variety of branches represented.

In 2015 Woodex will be held at “Crocus Expo” IEC, Moscow, Russia, November 24 – 27.
