Hello Members: The holiday season is upon us. It is the season of giving. I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holi-day. We have been busy around the lodge updating and making repairs. I would like to invite you to stop by and see the updates we made to the hall. A fresh coat of paint goes a long way. I would like to say “thank you” to all the members that have help with the repairs and renovations. Please remember that we have activities going on everyday of week. Please see the calendar for the events. We need your support to continue these events. We have the Oyster Scald and the Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, please come out and enjoy a great afternoon. Also the Children’s Christmas Party is Saturday, Dec. 12 from 1 to 4 pm and the Adult Christmas Party from 7 pm till? Please come out and support our New Year’s Eve Party. We have a great band, Country Memories, booked, great food and the place will be decorated and look beautiful. We will have a great time. Get your tickets early. Enclosing I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I look forward to seeing you at the Lodge. Fraternally yours, Frank Rozell
Hello All,
Well, the holidays are upon us. With your help, we were able to donate two full boxes of school supplies
during our school supply drive. Now, we’ve volunteered to help St. Joseph’s and the Charles County
Children’s Aid Society. We’re in the process of collecting food for the St. Joseph’s food pantry which dis-
tributes food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas. We’re also an official drop-off location for a toy
drive to benefit the Charles County Children’s Aid Society. Look for the boxes in the lodge to add your
contribution. Let us take this time to help those in need as well as one another. These are great ways to
spread holiday cheer!
I’d like to thank all who have been so supportive of all the Friday night dinners. A special thanks to Mar-
gie Stortzum and Lori Weedon for the Country Fried steak dinner on Oct. 9th. Also, I’d like to thank all
who volunteered for the children’s Halloween party. Once again, it was very successful!
If you haven’t been to the lodge lately, you should come on in to see the improvements that have been
made with more to come. Our hall looks wonderful with a fresh coat of paint. A big thanks to all who
helped with the painting.
Please mark your calendars of our meeting nights, which will be the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Looking forward to seeing you there and in the Lodge.
Fraternally yours,
Beth Garner

Prelate Report by Larry Dean
Francis Payne passed out Nov. 4, 2015
Did you know by Larry Dean….
Mooseheart has its own complete accredited school system located on the campus. Be-
ginning at age three, children begin their formal education in Nursery School. The elemen-tary school serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade, in self-contained class-
rooms where the teaching of basic skills is the primary focus. Middle School is for students
in grades six through eight; Mooseheart High School for grades nine through twelve. Class sizes are small, generally, with fifteen or fewer students.
The curriculum in the Mooseheart Schools is typical of what is used in schools across the nation — with one significant difference. Beginning with career exploration at the middle
school and evolving into vocational education at the high school level, each Mooseheart student learns a vocation in addition to earning an academic diploma. Vocations include
areas such as Computer Education, Business Education, Family and Consumer Science, Auto Mechanics, Commercial Music, Co-Op, Cosmetology and Health Occupations. A broad
extracurricular program is available at Mooseheart, including athletics, vocal and instru-mental music and club activities.
Students in grades nine through twelve are members of the NJROTC unit. In addition to receiving instruction in Naval Military Science, cadets compete in Drill Team, Rifle Team
and Pistol Team events. Mooseheart's educational programs are recognized by the Illinois State Board of Education and accredited by North Central Association Commission / Ad-
vancED.
The Moose fraternity's support of Mooseheart students does not end at the time of high school graduation. A generous financial aid program exists which provides scholarships for
students meeting academic criteria. Students who achieve a 2.0 ('C' average) grade point average are eligible for consideration for a two-year scholarship. Students with a 3.0 GPA
or higher are eligible for consideration for a four-year scholarship. 80% of Mooseheart graduates do go on to college, attending universities throughout the nation.
