Pray for

Church planting works in Mun-hoih, Tui-ma and Phou-cha-khai in Manipur, India.

(The first evangelistic meeting in a home at Munhoih. Notice some interesting pictures on the walls!)

Our current approach to church planting: This is a result of 18 years experience in church planting ministry in India:

1. House Church Stage: new believers meet first in a home. It takes 6 months – 2 years. During this formation stage a pastor is designated to look after the church on a voluntary basis. However, members are encouraged to give gifts to their pastor. 2. Church Building: when members (including children) are about 70 in numbers they

move on to a regular worship facility. 3. Property for Church building construction: It is normally purchased by donation from

local churches or members or our denomination or some times included in the amount requested for church planting.

4. Church Building Construction: a. All skilled and unskilled labourers provided by the local congregation. b. About 70% of U$10000.00 budgeted for church plant is used for purchasing only

building materials– bricks, sand, cement, wood, roofing etc. including paints. Standard building size 25’ x 67’ or 35’ x 67’ - size selection depends on the prospect of membership growth.

c. Church building is left unfinished intentionally for the local congregation to complete. This is to encourage more participation in the construction of their own church.. They are responsible to furnish their church with - ceiling, pews, pulpit, electrification or some kind of power supply, Sunday school facility, etc. They are the absolute owner of the church building and property. However, the property is registered with our Government in two names – local church and our denomination under co-ownership (co-patadar) system.

5. Support for the Pastor: The pastor’s regular pay begins as Presbytery and Church

Planting Partner(s) steps in. 30% of U$10000.00 budgeted is used for two years pastor’s salary. 1st year - $150 x 12 months = $1800 and 2nd

year $75 x 12 months = $900. From the 2nd year the local congregation will meet 50% and from the 3rd year the local congregation will take care of their minister’s need and all other ministry needs of their local church.

6. Accountability: We regularly update our partners during construction and when completed send them a completion and dedication report which includes financial report. Partners are always welcome to visit. 7. Membership in the Presbytery: They are taken into the nearest Presbytery

and equipped the church with a Pastor, Elders, Deacons, Mission and Evangelism Team, Women in the Church, Adult and Children Sunday School, Small (prayer) Groups, etc.

(Members of a new house - church at Tuima Village who came to know Christ during the last 3 years are now in need of a church building)

8. How do they quickly become self supporting: Our over all approach is designed for

churches to be absolutely indigenous and self supporting. In addition, we teach them: (1) to be self supporting and helping others within two years (2) to tithe correctly and faithfully and give generously in kind and cash (3) to walk closely with the Lord, bring others to Christ, pray, fellowship and worship faithfully and regularly (4) We have a very good program for Sunday School for adults and children (4) If they are not self supporting in two years, they can approach their Presbytery for help.

9. Partnership in Planting Churches: We need more friends and churches to partner with us in planting churches in prayers and financial support. An average complete cost of planting a standard church is $20000.00. You can partner with us by donating $10000.00. This is like providing a wheel. Without your partnership we can do on our own too little and too slow. The field is ripe for harvest. Right now I have three places ready for church planting but we cannot continue due to lack of fund. I will very much appreciate your prayers for these needs.

(The ladies are sharei ng the gospel to Hindus and Muslims in at Nowda Village – house to house

evangelism)

House to House Evangelism - God is mightily using women in the church to reach out to Hindu and Muslim

women – women to women ministry has brought many new believers to the church.

Open-air Evangelism – outreach through gospel music, skits and very short gospel talks – a meeting at Naudakhong Village – one of the most effective ways of reaching Hindus and Muslims in our community.

You can partner with us in spreading and rooting the gospel and

helping in constructing church buildings in India with your prayers and gifts.

I have been supporting Mr. Muan Hangsing in his 1st year M. Div. at Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Dehra Dun, India. I have been supporting him because I saw his calling to be a pastor and commitment to Jesus and his church (PCI) was genuine and sincere. Muan Hangsing has basic essential credentials to be a good leader in our denominational level in the future. BUT due to too many commitments I am in financial constrain to continue to help him for the 2nd year and 3rd final year. SO, I am appealing

help for him. His one year need is $ 1450.00). It can be done in one time payment or in two instalments as required by the seminary. Testimony: My name is ThiankhanMuan @Muan. My name means “God is always faithful”. My parents gave me this name because they saw God’s faithfulness in their journey of life and also because I am their 10th child. I have 9 other siblings!

My Father was orphaned when he was 7 years old. Though my father’s life was not easy, the Lord blessed him and he became a teacher under the State Government of Manipur. My mother is illiterate; but God fearing and takes good care of us and our household activities. My father had passed on to glory on January 08, 2008. In the month of December 1999 as I was attending a gospel outreach, I heard from the preacher that Christ in his obedience came and died for my sin in order that I might become God’s child. Then and there I trusted in Jesus by faith for my salvation and decided to follow Him all my life. I am ever grateful to God for his grace that saved me and made me his child. I wanted to be a pastor since God saved me. After much prayers and consultation with Christian family members, church members and leaders, I decided to pursue theological education at Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Dehra Dun, India in preparation to be a minister. The reason I chose this seminary is because of their good training and Reformed standing. I believe that PTS will best train me to be a good pastor in a Reformed Presbyterian Church denomination (PCI,R). With the help of Rev. Khen Tombing, I went to Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Dehradun, India in July 2011 to pursue Master of Divinity (M.Div.). Now I have completed the first year and did quite well (currently having exams) by his grace. I have two years (4 semesters) to go in order to complete M.Div. Course. AGAPE BABIES HOME (formerly Abandoned Babies Home) Deeply touched and burdened by unwanted and abandoned babies in our country, Rith and I, after many years of prayers and thoughts, finally decided to start a care centre for unwanted babies in early part of 2009. The same year in December, we approached the Presbyterian Church in India for their permission and support and we were permitted to start an Abandoned Babies Home in December 2009 with the condition that it is under the umbrella of the Presbyterian Church in India. Consequently, we started the home in October 2010 with the arrival of two babies: Deborah (2 months) and Daniel (just born). There are 11 babies and 10 caregivers at Agape Home:
